What would the romance options be like as parents?

Hmm... what would they be like as parents...

Kaspian: there would be moments but overall he wouldn’t bond well with any children, at least right off the bat. With young children, he really wouldn’t know what to do. He’d probably be conflicted considering Vampires can’t biologically procreate. He wouldn’t want to be the cause for the child’s disappointment when they learn he’s not related to them by blood. And that would consume him for their entire childhood-

Maybe once they move past that and he knows they’ve accepted him things will change.

He’d feel this way about all species children, and, like, 100% worse if they’re also a Vampire.

Rins: he’d be focused on letting his kids know they don’t have to be any one certain way. They can dress up as a fairy princess and pretend he’s the evil dragon, or they can play tackle outside. All is fun and games. Until the knives come out. No knives in play.

One first thing he’d teach as soon as they can walk is self defense. This world is unforgiving, especially for the Mundane. And then knives are OK.

Theryn: he is one of the kids.

Sharo: super strict in the eye of any adults. Until he’s alone with the kids, then soff mode is activated and you’ll probably come home to find him being dressed up and pinned down and drawn on. Do you hear that high pitched giggling? Yeah, it’s not the children.

If his kids had the Werewolf gene, the giggling will turn into screaming pretty quickly. But he’d be determined to figure out a way to have fun with clawed up and angry cubs - and learn quickly how to defuse any sibling arguments that arise, lest the kids resort to violence.

Glade: he’d be cautious at first, as he’s never really known people younger than him. How are people so tiny? And how do they get to full-size? It’s probably because of this that he’d be quite protective of them first, until he learns to trust (and hopefully how to guide) his children’s own instincts.

The Cast: The Mentor

Elected as the leader of the Royal Guard’s Southern Camp by its members, The Mentor has prepared all his life for this role. His father was Mentor preceding him, and his grandmother before then. The day of his father’s death was sad and joyous simultaneously as he prepared to step up to be the new leader.

Born with the name Kalial Orian, the Mentor’s history tells of a long military line and harsh discipline. He missed the years of growing up playing with other children for the sake of his intense education, and never sought an opportunity to marry lest his own wolfish spawn be held to the same expectations as he was.

Now, as the first white hairs grow into his beard, the Mentor knows exactly what his motivation is in life, his true purpose. He seeks change, to make this world a better place for his nieces and nephews, for his subjects and their offspring -- a new world governed by Werewolves alone.

The Cast: Reyne Thorne

Sister of Sharo and best friend of Rins, Reyne is a social bug that enjoys banter and lighthearted fun. She’s always in conflict with her wolf siblings as they seem to see the world from a different perspective to herself -- what is there not to enjoy? The sun shines bright, her family is well enough to expect a retirement, and her wolfish abilities are the greatest defense against anything that threatens her.

Still, she’s committed to her duties as is expected of her, and bounces back to a bubbly extravert the moment her shift is over.

The Cast: Gindell of Dallion

Raised on the sands of the Tentra Isles, Gindell’s journey to the guild was no easy feat. Her family shunned her with the discovery of her Casting, and so at the age of 14 she followed the lead of a single name to central Eralona: Djae Insjell.

Her feet were cut and callused by the time she arrived, the thin clothes of Tentra custom far from enough to keep her warm as the Eralonian Autumn set in. When she knocked upon the extravagant, green door of Djae’s manor, the first thing he said to her upon opening it was, “We ought to get you a new pair of shoes.”

Her respect for her teacher is something built out of necessity, for if Gindell were to realise that Eralona had never been her home and the land she grew up on cannot accept her back, she’d be truly lost.

She’s serious, staunch and fiercely loyal.

The Cast: Djae Insjell

A Caster who plays for no team but his own, Djae Insjell was not born into wealth but he’s schemed his way to the notorious top. Others are prone to either falling at his feet or avoiding him altogether - a fact of his polarising personality that Djae is quite endeared to see.

He’s used to being the outsider; it’s everything his childhood prepared him for, having spent the first decade of his years fighting seven siblings over things as simple as a slice of bread.

On the day it was discovered that Djae could cast magic, a new world opened up before his eyes. New possibilities came to light, a newfound power. This was his brand.

Djae enjoys playing the role of a trickster, and having people indebted to him.

Aldiel is the first afflicted Vampire, having lived with the curse for two thousand years before he was sentenced to an eternal slumber. He was buried, alive, and the weight of the dirt and rubble placed atop him slowly compressed his body in shape with the earth. A thousand years of conscious agony ensued.

His body was left alone by all other forms of life and the curse assured he stayed well preserved, but his mind decomposed a long time ago, leaving behind a cavity filled with broken shards of sense.

With the return of his sister, he forced enough strength upon himself to emerge from his grave with thoughts rotten and a motivation to ruin. He seeks vengeance and control, and he’s willing to play with anything that gets in his way.

Eralona is the land in which our story takes place.

A land of forestry and lakes alongside deserts and mountains, it’s a mystery to the people as to how this country can hold so many landscapes in such a small space. There are tales blaming magic, ones believing it’s the aftermath of war, and some settling on the reason that it’s simply the way nature has created itself.

With a long and messy history, Eralona today is not the same as it was a century ago. At the end of the Final Revolution (commonly understood as a pathetic label, considering it’s highly unlikely to be the last of its kind), the country saw a greater divide in rich and poor than ever before.

Eralona is home to a wide variety of species and their respective races, from Werewolves to Vampires to Caster’s and Ghouls. The peoples live separately – in three main communities or clans: the supernatural (who prefer to be called Mishumane), the Mundane, and Vampires. All communities follow their own version of the same belief, Eralin.

As well as its human(ish) species and fantastical sceneries, Eralona is home to animals of all sizes, from mice to bears and sleeping dragons. There’s animals of aggressive temperaments and placid ones alike.

Meet the LIs

There mightn’t be sprites and character sketches to look at just yet, so I’m going to sell the LIs personalities to you instead.

Introducing…

KASPIAN METIVA

Our 80 year old Vampire, who lives as an outcast to both his people and those in the Camp. He’s tall, thin and unamused. It’s true that all Vampires hold an unnerving glow - a kind of compulsion that makes people in their presence willing to surrender, though, it’s debatable whether or not he’s even aware of this power he holds.

In three words, Kaspian can be described as serious, worried, and a loner.

RINS VANRUN

An orphan found in the forest and our only human LI, Rins was found as an infant in the forest by his adoptive Werewolf parents. They raised him as their own along with the pack, and although some things don’t occur to him as easily as they do his wolf siblings, he’s always managed to keep up. Still, there is an innate need to prove himself as capable as any other inhumane creature.

In three words, Rins can be described as quiet, muscular, and gruff.

SHARO THORN

The adopted brother of Rins, Sharo has always taken his responsibilities as top priority. Honestly, does this guy ever have fun? He’s a Werewolf by blood, and pure at heart. Being different from the rest of the pack makes Sharo the butt of every joke, but he doesn’t mind–he’d rather spend his time learning how to hone his natural wolf talents to do what he believes is right in Eralona.

In three words, Sharo can be described as a goody two shoes.

GLADE BELADEI

A Caster’s apprentice, Glade was discovered to have magical inclinations when he reached his adolescence and has been practicing under supervision for the past decade. He’s intelligent and thoughtful, with a hint of naivety–there’s not much that can go wrong when he’s isn’t allowed out of Djae Insjell’s manor. Glade is incredibly perceptive, and once he decides he is committed to an act or a person, there is no way of turning him around.

In three words, Glade can be described as concise, innocent, and abstract.

THERYN HADE

Our youngest LI, at the age of 19. Theryn’s life has been anything but kind to him, growing up in the slums otherwise called the Sewers. As a Ghoul, it’s not out of the ordinary that he’s known the reality of working as a slave for the Vampires. He’s optimistic still, if a little torn.

In three words, Theryn can be described as energetic, childish, and sweet.

Any thoughts?

The sprites will be revealed in the (hopefully) near future.

Complex and Game art commissions

Aside from my emergency priced normal commission sheet- I wanted to go into the art that I draw that is either more complex or for more complex situations than just a one time commission or a digital painting made for personal use. I am opening my services for half body sprite art and watercolor/gauche style background art. (at this time I do not have approved background art that I can use for my portfolio- will update asap)

I am also opening commissions for more complex art styles such as stylized paint techniques and semi-realism art styles. Though this is not art I will do for game art such as sprites and CGs, I also feel like it should be definitely separate from my main commission sheet art, as the pricing is more unique to each commission versus a blanket price model. 

It took a while to come up with two distinct styles that I knew I could draw consistently and with multiple expressions. Each sprite style will include 10 expressions per sprite. This however, does not include clothing/hairstyle/pose variations. Hair/clothing variations start at $10 per outfit/hairstyle per sprite and poses are an additional $20 per sprite- each new pose will include the base 10 expressions. Additional expressions are $5 each after the initial base ten. I don’t mind assisting with character design. Women, men, elderly and children, as well as plushies and pets can be designed as sprites. I don’t draw highly detailed mecha or furries as these are not my strengths. 

Not all scenes are CGs, but for those who are looking to make games that feature CGs, here are a few of the styles I have previously drawn scenes in. If I draw the sprites, I can be sure to provide the consistency to draw the same characters from various angles in various situations and lighting to retain that consistency in your projects. CGs usually range anywhere from $80 to $150 depending on style, detail and complexity. 

About Game Art:

Game art and commission work for projects that may be commercial have different terms of use. If I am creating a piece that will be for commercial use, we must go into contract and need to discuss terms we both can agree on such as signage and the like. Also, game art commissions are not the same as one off art pieces for promotional purposes. Please be sure to contact me direct message if you are interested in a game art commission. 

Semi-realism art can be very stylized and/or very detailed. So because it can very so much, price is tbd based on the individual project.

Emergency Commissions

I absolutely am dying of nervousness as I write this. 2020 has been a hard year on everyone. So I don’t expect anyone to be shocked that it has been a difficult year for me as well. I have been through the wringer- but I’ve kept myself as busy as I could with building my two main visual novel projects, The Closet Door and Sunset Memory Sunrise Promise. That’s where my passion has been these days. 

But in the present- recently I’d been pretty sick and missed a lot of work because of it. My son was the same- the last month we took turns being bedridden and going to a myriad of doctor appts. This really took a toll on my income stability, as I do live check to check. And this month- I am behind… and no sooner than I was late, I received a five day notice. So I am desperately trying to earn the money to save myself the heartache of termination of my lease and eviction. I’ve been completing some commissions! Of the $500 I was short a few days ago- I am proud to say that I’ve been commissioned and completed enough commissions to bring my dept down to $175! So I am thankful for all those angels who commissioned me in my time of need- and as well, I love the work I’ve done for them! 

I’m sharing my emergency commission sheet with you, with pricing discounted so that I can quickly complete any work you need, and in turn if commissioned by you I can possibly make enough to save my roof over my head as well as over my son’s. We work- but don’t get paid in time to beat the five day deadline. So I’m truly at the mercy of those who would take a chance on my talent as well as on me.

I call this special sheet below same day guarantee, because these are default styles that I can complete rather fast. Each of these images were completed in between 15 minutes to an hour. I consider any background in these styles minimal, as I usually use template brushes or simple watercolors to complete them. It is still imperative that you be available and clear and communicative for this to work, however- if I don’t know what to draw, I can’t get it to you fast!

Guys, it would mean the world to me to stay in my place. Arizona is no place to be homeless, and though I’ve done it before- never here and never in a world wrought by a pandemic. So if at all you can commission me for something, i’ll be glad to take on your project! I’ve got great references and I have yet to ghost on a project.
