“Alright, alright,” Adam chuckled, lifting the bottle of beer to his lips for a quick swig, “C’mon, I’m in the mood for a story so how ‘bout you tell me anything you want, I’m all ears.” 

Lily thought for a moment, before she smiled over towards him. "There's a little kid, comes into the shop every week, same day, and he always tells me some riddle or random little fact he learned recently. So - did you know you can hear a lion's roar from up to five miles away?" It was an innocent little story, but the first that came to her head.

“You see, that’s what I assumed too but I keep getting thrown around on she went and had her kids already and still in the hospital. But that could just be celebrity gossip.”

"I guess we'll have to wait to find out." She smiled. "Weird that the news wasn't bigger."

“You could’ve warned me like two minutes ago,“ he said, giving up on the rubbing and tossing the napkin into a nearby trash can. “I should just carry extra shirts with me from now on.”

Raising an eyebrow at the quip, Lily simply shook her head slightly. "I just think yu should be extra careful with your coffee." She chuckled. "Come on, let's go and soak it before it's ruined."

“Now? As strong as possible. Please.” She nearly begged the stranger. She’d worry about that later, once she didn’t feel like her head was about to split open. “Nice to meet you, Lily. And- thanks for not thinking I’m a threat. I’m Juliet.”

Chuckling as she poured the liquid into the mug, Lily smiled over towards her. "Lovely to meet you too, Juliet, though.. I'm sure you'd have preferred to meet in some other way." She laughed, wandering over to hand her the coffee. "Do you at least remember if you had a good night?"

lillian scoffed, “stop it, you know that vase has been sitting in a corner collecting dust for years. take it. i’m sure it’ll be lovely with some of your gorgeous flowers in it.”

Rolling her eyes, Lily crossed her arms across her chest. "True as that is, I'd like to actually buy it, I'd feel awful if you just gave it to me."

“Didn’t think so,” he said, chuckling softly. “Fantastic,” he replied, leaning over slightly to look the two dead in the eye. “Fuck ‘em,” he shrugged. “They’re probably not saying anything true, anyway,” he finished, wetting his lips. “What’s new with you? Anything fascinating for Lily?”

He had to know she was joking; Lily had missed Casey more than she'd admit, having done almost nothing new with her life since he'd left. "Oh, see so much happened. Got my job of a lifetime, got married, the whole works." She shook her head, nothing of the sort true, and took another sip from the glass in her hand. "Nothing fascinating for Lily." She smiled softly.

“Three whole years. Probably feels like yesterday I was here,” he joked. He felt like it was longer than three years, if he was being completely honest. They’d dragged on for what felt like ages. “What’s the gossip?” he asked, knowing that Lily wasn’t exactly the best person to ask. “Grapevine saying anything interesting about my return?”

"Didn't miss you at all." She teased, bumping shoulders with him softly. Lily frowned at his next question, knowing full-well she was one of the worst people with gossip. "Asides from the fact that I don't think you've been home yet, you know I'm awful with gossip. But I think the people besides me are talking about you, big guy." She whispered.

“oh, you can just take that, really. no charge,” lillian said, giving a ginger smile at one of the people who had stopped by her yard sale. she had prolonged her spring cleaning into the summer and was trying to get rid of her excess junk, leaving her here, sitting in the driveway as people thumbed through her old books and gadgets.

Lily had stopped at the small yard sale out of pure curioisity; she loved things like that, and always ended up getting some kind of something. That was when something caught her eye, a vase of some sort. "--hmm? Oh- don't be silly, how much do you want for it?"

“Ugh,” he groaned trying to wipe away the fresh coffee stain he had just recently made on his shirt but it seemed like he was just making it worse and he started to become more aggravated. “this is just so fan-fucking-tastic.”

Lily had seen it happen, and made a face once he tried to wipe it away, knowing it wouldn't work. "Hey-- Jesse, stop rubbing it, it won't work. I remember someone saying to rub it in cold water." She smiled softly.

“Either I’m in the dark and living under a rock but am I the only one who haven’t heard about the Queen B’s twins being born or not.” Rosalie set the magazine down and glanced at the other with frustration, mostly because she was procrastinating on going to work out or even cook herself a meal.

Lily frowned as the other girl spoke about Beyonce, and then shook her head. "She's had her kids already? Surely not, I mean.. there'd be some kind of big celebratory thing, right?"

Casey’s first stop was the Dubliner for a drink. For a man that had been sober for seven years, it was an odd choice of location. But as he stepped off the city bus, it was the first place he wanted to go. He needed a drink, as if it could wash away the last three years, or at least the last three months. Stepping into the bar, he proceeded to go directly toward the bartender and ordered himself a rum and Coke, ignoring the likely glances he was receiving. Ex-football star, turned addict, turned soldier; it was hard for him to get around unnoticed. Especially after being gone so long. 

It wasn't as if it was unusual for Lily to be at the bar, but many had told her she seemed a little innocent for being at the place alone. Truthfully, she didn't much care, and glanced to the side to find a familiar face. "Back so soon?" She joked slightly, smiling across at him as she took a sip of her own drink.

Coiling Marlow’s leash around his hand so the dog wouldn’t stray too far, he gave her question some thought before saying, “I think a Jack Russell would work well for you. They’re not too big or too small, and I read somewhere that they’re quite easy to train and they’re generally very energetic dogs, so you’ll never be bored.” This was just the kind of information he happened upon when he read books on dog breeds for fun. “That’s perfect, then. I’m at the campus only until noon on Tuesday, we can go look at some dogs after?”

lily thought for a moment, biting down on her lower lip more as a habit than anything, thinking about having a little Jack Russell. They were adorable, she knew that much, and she trusted his opinion on dogs. She supposed she'd have to wait and see when they got to the shelter. "Hmm.. they are pretty cute. I think I like longer haired dogs, though." She shrugged, not entirely sure why. "That sounds perfect to me, too. I can meet you at the campus?"

“Of course. I’d want to make sure you’ll get one you’ll actually like and would suit you, not just because they’d be cute.” He threw the word back at her, as it seemed that she was easily swayed by how adorable animals were. “Just tell me when you’re free, and we’ll set a date.”

Lily chuckled at his wording, and felt like one of the things on her metaphorical bucketlist was finally coming true. "What dog do you think would suit me?" She questioned, thinking about his words. "Well, I'm free for the rest of the week, they gave me the week off because I've worked so much overtime, if you're available?"

“Fair enough, though it does sound fairly impractical when it comes to doing other things,” he shrugged, looking down at the whiskey in the glass he was holding. “A bit of both, you could say.”

"It's always the lesser of two inconveniences, with the whole would you rather thing." Lily nodded at his words, and shrugged slightly. "Well, what would you prefer?"

“I smell coffee.” Juliet breathed out, nearly reaching for it despite how far away it was. “Coffee.” She whined quietly. “Sorry. Been-long night. I think.” she spoke, slowly focusing on the stranger. “Thanks.”

Lily chuckled, grabbing two cups from her cupboard, before turning again. "How do you take it?" She smiled. "It's okay, I figured.. well, after you passed out, you weren't a threat, so-- I'm Lily."

“Well, this going to be much more difficult than I thought.” Jairus stared around the Dubliner, trying to see it through fresh eyes, but after nearly ten years of the same layout and decor–he couldn’t figure out what to do to make it–fresh. “At this point, I’m willing to just throw a bucket of paint at the wall and call it a day.”

"Thinking of changing it?" She questioned, as he seemed evidently frustrated at the thought of it not being new, or different. Lily thought change was good, though sometimes it was best to stick to tradition. Perhaps a mix of both was a choice.

“Would you rather have fingers as long as arms or arms as long as fingers?” Luca questioned, turning to the person beside him, a glass of whiskey in his hand. He’d heard the dilemma earlier in the day and maybe he was a little drunk, but he couldn’t get it out of his head and it was frustrating him more than it should have. “Which one’s better?”

Lily glanced over towards Luca for a second, humming as she thought about his question. "--uh.. fingers as long as arms. So that I could actually reach things off the top shelf." She chuckled, taking a sip of her own drink. "Long day, or just curious?"
