i caught a bit of gelya’s insta live today (didn’t catch the bit where she apparently said she plans to ditch the rings from her beam though lol) with aliya in the background and they were kinda hilarious tbqh. 

she’s going to swiss cup and was like ‘how am i going to even do anything there? my female coach that’s going with me isn’t going to be able to spot me on bars, on vault or on floor? how will i do the half on on vault or the chusovitina? the main thing is to come out of there alive’ or something similar lolol. 

they were talking about named skills, gelya didn’t know that aliya had named skills, aliya said that the half-on front layout full vault is named after her and gelya was like, semi-shocked: you did a half on front full layout? and aliya was like, “well, not really a layout.” lmao. talked about how she lost the gold on vault after not being credited with the layout and didn’t win other EF golds at the 2010 world champs. they talked about how hard inbars are. aliya said that winning bars gold at worlds is a bad omen if you want to win bars gold at the olympics lmao, she was like “i’m not a world champ on bars” and gelya was like “me neither”
