If you donât let go of your prejudices and past grudges, your heart wonât blossom. 2013 is coming, letâs make a change. We only have one planet so letâs show each other some kindness.
you aren't seriously comparing disney's merch chain to an indie studio's right? glitch's merch is like the only source of income besides yt's monetization, unlike disney (and other big studios) with uncountable copyrighted works, residuals, streaming subscriptions etc etc
anyone who sells anything should be shot
when the persona you made eats you; when the performance youve been putting on eats you; when the name they gave you eats you; when the image people made of you eats you; when the role you were assigned eats you; when the you that other people see or even made for you or you made for them takes over the you that you know and eats you alive.
i did really like the knights of guinevere pilot but the irony of producing a show that is trying to provide commentary on the endless commodification of cheap and useless consumerist slop, and the way that the producers of said items are heavily exploited by corporate interests, and then releasing the pilot episode alongside a release of a ton of marketable items that include cheap 1:1 replicas of the things being produced in-universe, isnât lost on me
people really love to condone ostracism for sexual morality reasons and try to twist this into something progressive somehow. it's abhorrently reactionary but even worse it's annoying and stupid.
I think it's important to hold some level of responsibility over your effect on the culture among your friends and in your scene, it isn't a neutral statement to condone someone being cut off over arbitrary judgement because of something they heard of their private sex life. in the broader sense freedom of association is important, of course, but if I heard a friend stopped talking to someone and refused to be in the same space as them for any reason related to their sexual proclivities (aside from actual abuse or disrespect of boundaries, of course), I would say "hey, that is fucked up and you shouldn't do that", not "oh that's totally okay and even fair". one person saying "I don't like what you do in your bedroom so I don't want to talk to you" is easy to dismiss but when that's considered acceptable and fair in a group, or even expected, it creates a culture of banishment and fear for anyone found to be too far outside the norm in the "wrong" way.

crt nostalgia is really funny to me because it makes total sense why everyone switched to lcd flat panel screens as soon as the tech came along
cathode ray tube televisions are full of lead (because otherwise they would give you turbo cancer), they weigh One William pounds (because they are full of lead), itâs very hard to make them big (because they need to contain a vacuum to work), if you break the glass they Fucking Explode (because they contain a vacuum), and if you poke the wrong thing inside them (even when turned off) you will be electrocuted by hundreds of volts. clearly this is superior to the 50 inch 4k flatscreen i can pick up brand spankin new at best buy for a cool two hundo bucks because it makes me feel like christmas in 1998
once youve met tgirl youll never stop wanting to beat parents to death with your bare hands
i think the funniest stupid discourse to come out of internet virtue signalling are those people who insist that racy fanfiction needs to have super explicit consent written between the characters, and god forbid a fic involve dubcon/rape because that makes you the devil from the bible. like, you do understand that consent is actually only necessary between the actual people involved, right? the author consented to having their fic read by publishing it, the reader consented to reading the fic by clicking on it. either party can revoke that consent at literally any point, by either hitting the back button or deleting the work, respectively. (holding you tight, staring deeply into your eyes) i need you to understand that characters is not people. characters is objects
love love love when a particularly manipulative character is lying off their ass about something and then throws in one hauntingly genuine line
