Hi everyone! I've been thinking about this for a while and have decided that this blog will now be inactive. It's been a great 2 years in the mxtx fandom (not quite 2 for this blog itself but well) but I think it's time to say goodbye to this blog. I won't be deleting ling-wens, but I will no longer be on it.

This little sideblog will always be special to me because it's actually the first blog I used (even before my main). It's also where I first made gifs so of course I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has ever liked, reblogged, and said nice things about my content! This fandom is home to many very talented and very wonderful creators who I look up to a lot, so please continue supporting them!!

Most importantly, I've met a lot of lovely people and mutuals here! I really should have done a follow forever at some point but now it's a little too late.... so I'll just quietly hope you see this. Whether we've talked, exchanged nice asks, tagged each other in games or even just reblogged silently from each other, know that every interaction has meant a lot to me. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for everything. I wish you all only the very very best and hope we will cross paths again ♡

I haven’t been very active for a while, and I don’t think I will be in the future. I dislike leaving things hanging around so I decided to just go completely inactive. It’s something I had to think about for a while since I am pretty attached to ling-wens, but this week I finally felt ready to do it so here we are :)

hi! since the last one was so popular i’m back with another gif challenge if you want to try it.  this time it’s a more aesthetic-type scene without people in it so you don’t have to worry about skintone 😀

here’s the base gif:

the challenge is the same as last time - use this base psd here or here to process anyway you’d like in any program. it hasn’t been sharpened or anything yet. i used .05 frame rate but you don’t have to.

if you want to pre-process in vapoursynth or another program, the 6-second mov file is here or here (just type in 00:00:00 for start time and 00:00:06 for the length)

ahhh thank u so much for tagging me! I saw these kinds of challenges going around but haven’t had time to do it until now.

I love all the different styles of colorings above. So cool.

I lean towards cooler/darker colors (and also for some reason I couldn’t use my usual psd for the sharpening), so the result:

This challenge is such a fun idea and I loved seeing all of your different colouring styles :D I usually make people gifs so this was a bit different, but good different! I tried to bring out all the colours. I may have been a bit heavy-handed with the reds but I think a warm-ish look suits this pretty well? Again I have also seen this go around and I think the people I would tag have already been tagged/done it. But if you would like to do it just say I tagged you!

Hi! here’s a gif challenge if you want to do it - take this base gif (uploaded here as a psd):

and process it any way you want, in any program. if you want to use vapoursynth or another program to pre-process here is the 4 second mov file (just input 00:00:00 for the time and then 00:00:04 for the length of the clip). You will have to crop and trim it yourself but don’t worry about matching the exact dimensions or number of frames. Frame rate I used is .05 btw but you don’t have to!  

Just want to see the different results everyone gets because we all have our own style and preferences! 

here is my end result - i usually don’t really experiment with color too much but @therukurals taught me some tricks so i’ve been trying those out 😅

I don’t have a particular giffing style so the result just really depends on my mood lol. The only thing that’s really consistent is the way I approach blues – I’m not a fan of true blues so I usually desaturate and/or lean more cyan or teal. Tools used: Vapoursynth and Photoshop CC

@yibuo thank you for the tag!! my base coloring leans towards warm pastel and it works best for bright settings. this scene had more yellows than im used to working with so it ended up looking kinda dull ^^;;

Thank you @linglynz​ @mika--82​ @thegreatkayden​ for tagging me! <3<3 The sky was actually white but I thought it would contrast nicely with the yellow grass if it was blue so this was the result! A bit experimental since I don’t usually manipulate colours so much (if at all), but I think I like the result?
