07.03.2026, Saturday. An older picture from when it was snowy. Now the light shines in on my study spot, warms me, and distracts me. Spending a lot of time with Shakespeare and Marlowe during this semester break - but also enjoyed a quick Austen detour. I read Northhanger Abbey, and am fixing to get my hands on the next book of hers (though I haven't decided between Emma or Sense and Sensibility. What do you think?) The work piles on, yet we remain hopeful.

my period always nerfs me during times of academic distress, i’m in pain, tired, and my body feels like blehhh.. my mind feels like blehh.. all i wanna do is sleep. but my exam is in two days and i literally have no option. i gotta make it out of here in one piece!

Strange how it is cold today despite the fact that summer is approaching. I had to move from the café to the library and complete the placement test there. I will get the results next week. Whatever level I am at should only matter if I tend to progress. αἰὲν ἀριστεύειν.

Today i managed to work one hour in the library and I think I'm almost done with the ER diagram that I've been working on for 3 days. My brain is fried XD

Classes are very slowly becoming exhausting, but I'm powering through bc what other choice do I have lol. I'm also trying to fix my very whack sleep schedule but idk if I'm succeeding.

I'm also not sure how to feel about the book that I'm reading. It's set around the end of ww2, and I'm only 90 pages in so I'm trying not to form any opinions yet. Let's see how it goes.

writing has been equally frustrating and rewarding. thankfully, i am not the only one who feels that way; my officemates also seem to be on the same boat. work has picked up as it is the end of the semester. while teaching has been fun, i am looking forward to the break.

some days i feel so tired working on the same projects i’ve been working on this whole semester. and now that the deadlines are so close, i can’t even think about all the exciting plans i have for this summer. i don’t regret doing an art degree, but sometimes it feels so unnatural to have to force myself to work on my art. i’ve been avoiding actually painting for a while by focusing on my other classes, but now i have to finish a piece by the end of the week so tomorrow i’ll probably just be working on that, whether i want to or not.

struggling to be productive today ugh

my goal for this afternoon is to finish my crime mapping readings and the discussion post. i also need to plan out a paper proposal to send to this prof in my department but i cannot for the life of me remember what we talked about for it lol

also i'm now a 2nd year phd student! i do not envy the incoming first years in the slightest; this past academic year has genuinely been hell on earth

today was terribly messy. i was able to get my 6h exam over with in the first three hours, but i'm running the worst cold of the past few months. nevertheless we pulled through!!! i was still able to finish at least one of the things i promised myself to do so that's a win in my books

I was blessed to go on a cruisy 5km with an amazing woman this morning. She's such an amazing role model to me, and I'm sure she doesn't even realise it. It really started my day on the right foot.

I'm very grateful to be in the world today.
