Went to see the IMAX 3D format.
Movies started 20 minutes late due to a server update.
15 minutes into the movie, it paused, and then restarted in a different 3D format. Come to find out a few minutes later, we were given the wrong type of 3D glasses and they were playing the wrong format. They swapped out the glasses, gave us a free movie pass to use later, and restarted the movie.
The movie itself was decent. The CGI was good. The story line seemed slightly rushed and then stalled to make room for a sequel.

How many people have to die for land grabs?
No matter who shot down Mayaysian Airlines 17 (MH17), there is only one person who should be blamed. Had Vladimir Putin not wanted to do a land grab in the Ukraine, none of this would have happened.
Funny how even in 2014, we are still witnessing countries going to war over land.
Sad thing is, there isn't much anyone can do about it.
I feel for the families of both countries and all that are affected by this senseless "accident".

where i want to live... vs... where i do
Tech World vs White House
seems to me to that it is a little hypocritical for these companies (esp Google and Facebook) to complain how the government is spying on them to get people's information when all of their business models are based on doing the same thing to everyone.

The Lost World
I suppose those tourists might have been portraits of gaiety, rejoicing, sweet contentment, and happiness in all its shades. But where I saw those expressions, they seemed to be masks, and often I saw faces shaped by disquiet, misgiving, trepidation, confusion, and doubt, with body language that translated as anxiety and impatience. Perhaps it was my mood, the head collection and other atrocities still so fresh in my mind, but these people seemed like refugees from places that had gone drab and lusterless for reasons that they could not fully understand. They had come here to find the fun that had been lost elsewhere, fun and brightness and freedom and hope, but they were beginning to suspect, still on some unconscious level, that this hundred-billion-dollar biggest carnival in the history of the world was not an oasis, after all, but just another version of the desert from which they’d fled.

Deeply Odd: An Odd Thomas Novel
I have had these thoughts about Las Vegas for quite some time. After spending 8 years here, I can say, it is not the most inspiring place to live.
Always questioning your motivations is a healthy thing, but fearing your capacity for doing the wrong thing, so that you retreat from many aspects of life, is a terrible error in itself.

Deeply Odd: An Odd Thomas Novel
After four lawyers fail to get an innocent man out of prison, his friend takes on the case himself. He becomes a do-it-yourself investigator. He learns to read court records, he tracks down hard-to-find witnesses, he gets the real murderer to come forward with his story.
Usually I spare myself from the news, because if it’s not propaganda, then it’s one threat or another exaggerated to the point of absurdity, or it’s the tragedy of storm-quake-tsunami, of bigotry and oppression misnamed justice, of hatred passed off as righteousness and honor called dishonorable, all jammed in around advertisements in which a gecko sells insurance, a bear sells toilet tissue, a dog sells cars, a gorilla sells investment advisers, a tiger sells cereal, and an elephant sells a drug that will improve your lung capacity, as if no human being in America any longer believes any other human being, but trusts only the recommendations of animals.

you learn
You could say I learned a lot from him. You could say there is a huge amount of the person I am because of him. You could also probably say I owe him that debt of gratitude.
People always thank the people that are influential in their lives when they've achieved something. "I'd like to thank Bob, Sam, Ted, Sal, that person over there, that person over there, my family, and mom... (so on and so forth)."
You don't ever hear, I'd like to thank xxx for being such an asshole that you literally taught me exactly how not to be. Thanks!

High School drop out, Not even street smart. Addicted to alcohol, cigarettes, and scratch tickets. Always angry on a primal level where common sense and logic would never penetrate. Racist, sexist, and homophobic.
How the hell my mother fell in love with you, I will never understand. She left you once, should have stayed gone. In the end, I always believed you killed her. Maybe not quickly with your hands or a gun. But slowly over time taking away the ability to deal with her life and the stress you created until one day her heart exploded. While I understand that is not the case, I felt that for the longest time with the haunting thoughts of her calling out your name while you were upstairs too passed out to hear. Thank you for that as well.
Everyone you had close to you, you made them estranged. All except the mental patient that you had living with you over the years.
Your own family didn't even want to write your obituary because they couldn't think of what to say.
So here you go:
B died on Saturday. He lived his life selfishly. He left behind two estranged daughters, a step son, and his brother S. We all wondered why it took so long and sorry to say, you will never be able to say how you'll break our necks off and shit down our throats any more.
I know this sounds angry but I've been over the anger for quite some time.
In fact if it weren't for some of the lines above repeating themselves over and over and over and over in my head...

Bye B.
