Jurassic Park in the Hunger Games Universe Ideas
So these are some ideas that are essentially fan fiction for how the Jurassic Park character would be as Victors in the Hunger Games universe. I’m starting with characters from the books/first two films.
Ideas incoming:
Alan Grant-pickaxe weapon, dealt with reptilian mutts talent is illustration (ie scientific illustration)-Badlands inspired arena
Ellie Sattler-knife and poison for weapon-uses plants to survive and to kill-talent is gardening-floodplains ecosystem
Ian Malcolm-predicts what will happen, hides and survives (this is basically his weapon)-made to suffer post-victory with a leg injury, so that they eventually have to amputate it, replacement leg has to constantly be repaired in the Capital or else it will release some sort of poison, slowly killing him-this is a punishment for “outsmarting” gamemakers-talent-digital art
Kelly Curtis (Book version, not related to Ian Malcolm)-darts for her weapon, uses lots of out of the box thinking to survive, also builds vehicles…talent is bicycle riding
Arby Benton-tech? breaks into computers in the arena, puts clues together and when he succeeds, gets trapped in a bunkers while a disaster occurs and thus survives-talent is making video games-
Jack Thorne (Doc Thorne)-solar powered weapons, diy’d them in the arena has a ton of survival skills as well-talent is robotics
Eddie Carr-one of Thorne’s tributes who died in the arena…or who was killed afterwards in a suspiciously timed accident
Richard Levine-Career tribute who survives through sponsors and being the last one standing…he doesn’t have a weapon…talent is rock collecting
Donald Gennaro-A tribute who uses fire as his weapon…burns a large area to the ground and is the last one standing- talent is theatrical performance (acting)
Henry Wu-A career who uses his knowledge of biotechnology to survive-probably a sci fi heavy arena-poison needles are his weapon-talent is genetic engineering-I think this is realistic for a career tribute to have
Ray Arnold-A career who builds an underwater weapon in a water based arena, talent-sailboating
Robert Muldoon-a career whose parents make the hunting weapons for the capital, weapon is a rocket which he’s been using forever-talent architectural design
Ed Regis-Wins with his PR prowress and manipulation of the press…once he becomes a mentor his district gets more victors -talent-video editing
Dr. Gerry Harding-weapon is snake venom, while in the arena he befriends mockingjays since he’s an avian vet specifically this causes him to be one of the tributes whose daughter was intentionally reaped later on…talent is veterinary medicine-think it makes sense to let him have that if he’s from an animal husbandry district and it would play well with propaganda-ie look what he gets to do his passion, and also makes the birds and snakes seem less rebellious
Dr. Sarah Harding-daughter of Dr. Gerry Harding who is being punished with her reaping-paralyzing serum for her weapon, finds out how to survive by following the animals, builds a treehouse-talent is horseback riding
Hammond-is either head gamemaker/retired or a dictator, not sure what I want to do besides have him be from the Capital
might have to lock in and write niche age gap yaoi again. its crazy what a mind will latch onto
Thorne pressed the button on his phone. "Richard. It's Thorne. Do you read me?"
"Hello?" Levine said at the other end. "Hello?"
Thorne sighed. "Richard. You have to press the "T" button, for transmit. Over."
"Hello?" Another cough, deep and rasping. "This is Levine. Hello?"
Thorne shook his head in disgust. "Obviously, he doesn't know how to work it. Damn! I went over it very carefully with him. Of course he wasn't paying attention. Geniuses never pay attention. They think they know everything. These things aren't toys." He pushed the send button. "Richard, listen to me. You must push the "T" in order to—"
"This is Levine. Hello? Levine. Please. I need help." A kind of groan. "If you can hear me, send help. Listen, I'm on the island, I managed to get here all right, but—"
A crackle. A hiss.
"Uh-oh," Thorne said.
100 pages later
"Look," Levine said crossly. "It's not my problem if—"
Thorne said, "You spent the night in the tree?"
"Yes, and in the morning the raptors had gone. So I came down and started looking around. I found the lab, or whatever it is. Clearly, they abandoned it in a hurry, leaving some animals behind. I went through the building, and discovered that there is still power—some systems are still going, all these years later. And, most important, there is a network of security cameras. That's a very lucky break. So I decided to check on those cameras, and I was hard at work when you people barged in—"
"Wait a minute," Eddie said. "We came here to rescue you."
"I don't know why," Levine said. "I certainly never asked you to."
Thorne said, "It sounded like you did, over the phone."
"That was a misunderstanding," Levine said. "I was momentarily upset, because I couldn't work the phone. You've made that phone too complicated, Doc. That's the problem. So: shall we get started?"
Levine paused. He looked at the angry faces all around him. Malcolm turned to Thorne. "A great scientist," he said, "and a great human being."
All this and he still didn't thank Thorne for saving his life. It's unclear how this man is still rich when his judgment is this bad, lol.
The Lost World: Jurassic Park Pokemon Teams
The events of the Pokemon World's The Lost World: Jurassic Park are similar to both the novel and movie but with key differences.
If you saw my last Pokemon Team post, then you should have seen that John Hammond dies from his Mega Aerodactyl attacking him. So if this combines both movie and novel, then it should have the beginning like the novel, right? Wrong. John Hammond is still alive, just severely injured like Ian. This is a nod to how Ian in Jurassic Park's novel died with the island and somehow came back. Is this shitty writing? Yes. Am I still going with it? Yes.
InGen is still the antagonist of this movie.
Dinosaurs are not captured by pokeball as there is an inhibitor field covering the area preventing regular pokeballs from working.
John Hammond Both of John's pokemon from the previous movie perished. The miniature copperajah died from his Mega Aerodactyl, and the Mega Aerodactyl was killed by Tyrantrum.
Tim Murphy While Tim and Lex do only appear for a brief second, I'm still bringing them along with their pokemon.
Drizzile
Lex Murphy Same reasoning as Tim.
Raboot
Dedenne
Dr. Ian Malcolm Ian's team doesn't change much, just a few new additions and a few replacing the ones. If you want to see why certain pokemon are added, check the previous post.
Marowak- After the first movie, Ian seems very much hardened by his trauma after Jurassic Park. Marowak's seriousness after evolving from Cubone is meant to reflect this.
Absol
Gallade- Another pokemon with precognitive abilities, Gallade replaces Gothitelle as Gothitelle died in the previous story from the Tyrantrum that attacked Malcolm. Ian getting a Gallade also reflects the more protective role he has gained in this story
Haxorus
Dr. Sarah Harding A paleontologist and a pokemon behaviorist in this universe, Dr. Harding's team consists of mainly pokemon that have some relation to paleonotology or some part of Sarah's character and history. Because she is a pokemon behaviorist, she has a full team of pokemon.
Machoke- According the novel, Sarah has a very masculine physique. Machoke is a reference to this.
Pyroar- According to both the movie and novel, Sarah spent time in Africa where she encountered lions. Pyroar is a reflection of that.
Kabutops- According to the lore, Kabuto can still be found in the wild. Sarah Harding
Mamoswine- Through the use of ancient power, Piloswine evolves into Mamoswine.
Tangrowth- Through the use of ancient power, Tangela evolves into Tangrowth
Yanmega- Through the use of ancient power, Yanma evolves into Yanmega.
Eddie Carr The field equipment expert in hammond's team, Eddie's pokemon team is meant to reflect the various tools and equipment he helped create throughout the movie. Most of his pokemon die in their pokeballs however with the except of a few.
Toxapex- This is the reference to the gun that Eddie holds in the movie. I say holds instead of uses as he never uses it.
Ferrothorn- A reflection of the high-hide Eddie invented. Ferrothorn was with Kelly when he died.
Charjabug- All of the vehicles that the research team takes to Isla Sorna are electric. Charjabug is meant to reflect that.
Klinklang- Eddie is a mechanic.
Nick Van Owen A photographer who has been in many combat situations as well as an environmentalist.
Scizor- A reference to the bolt cutters Nick and Dr. Harding used to free the captured dinosaurs
Kelly Curtis Malcolm
Popplio- Starter pokemon that can learn acrobatics
Trubbish- Kelly has a track record of being very messy, so a Trubbish was made because of her.
Peter Ludlow the main antagonist of the movie version, Ludlow is the nephew of John Hammond.
Donphan- To reflect his relation with John Hammond, Ludlow has a Donphan to contrast with John's deceased mini Copperajah
Roland Tembo Like with Robert Muldoon, Roland Tembo has a full team of pokemon as he is a trained professional big game hunter. With the only exception being his Intelleon, his pokemon are caught in the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn's Safari Zones, and Sinnoh's Great Marsh. Another thing to note is that all of the members on his team are strictly male. This is because of him wanting the buck T. rex, and I assume the same goes with the rest of his captures. He only has one position left for the tyrantrum.
Intelleon- Roland uses a select range of tools and weapons to hunt dinosaurs in The Lost World. But he primarily uses his shot gun to try and kill the Tyrannosaurus
Nidoking
Slaking
Rhyperior
Drapion
Dieter Stark If you don't remember this guy, I don't blame you. He was the guy who got attacked by the compies.
Electabuzz- in the scene where Dieter is shown with one compy, he shocks it. Electabuzz is known for being aggressive. It fits.
Dr. Robert Burke The paleontologist that was hired by Peter Ludlow. I didn't want to give him a competent team as he wasn't the smartest guy around.
Slowpoke- Because Dr. Burke is behind on paleontological information, he has a slowpoke that can learn dig to reflect that. It also gives him a valid reason to be afraid of a non-venomous snake pokemon like Snivy.
Why is Jurassic park trending??? Anyways here are some character design ideas (my favourite hobbie) for the lost world plus some skeches i did with them...
Ok so, explaning these... in an ideal universe i would really like to see a lost world miniseries that's a mix of both movie and book... because the movie makes some really cool stuff but the book has some parts that feel more cohesive and vice versa...
Rambles about how plot and stuff would work below
So, depending if you go with book or movie 1 ending the begining would change because of hammond, but it would be basically the same anyways. I mixed sarah and levine because she's basically levine in the movie and while book sarah is a badass i think it would be fun to se her journey to becomenong that, like she goes from this self centered research focused kinda loser to this badass girl. Thorne and eddie should be merged too but i don't know why i separated them.
I like kelly being ian's daughter but i would change her motive to go on the mission, instead of her wanting to be with her dad she wants to help her idol sarah and prove she's useful so she stays the same as in the movies, but i think she should be more math and computer focused instead of gymnastics just because i think it's useful in these movies and it would make a little more sense.
Ian stays the same as the movies because he's perfect like that. Plotwise i would stick to the book but with the movie's team, like hammonds nephew is replaced with dogson but the rest stay the same, i would really like to see more scenes of the book like with the carnotauros, or the velociraptor chase, or sarah getting the car scene and stuff like that but also scenes from the movie like the animals scaping or the two groups meeting and having to kinda work togheter.
I would just cut Nick from the narrative because he's kinda useless, and the san Diego ending because it's kinda idk just there?
But yah that's it kinda
