happy international women’s day!

yellow mimosas are given to women on iwd (which is widely celebrated as a day to express love for women, having lost its original political flavour). the flower was chosen as a symbol by teresa mattei, italian partisan and politician, because she felt the european symbols (violets and lilies) were too scarce and expensive in italy to be readily available to the poorer working classes.

OK SO i’ve been absolutely rubbish with posting on here, not for lack of work (quite the opposite in fact, lots of doodles and some commissions that are still kinda hush hush) but i originally wanted this blog to feature mainly finished, nicely scanned and polished work and i haven’t really had much time to that. BUT i post loads of doodles and wip on facebook and i’ve been pretty active on instagram (@thelisabelle) where you will find drawings, random stuff i see, travelling, even my stupid face sometimes! so please do come follow me on either of them while i sort myself out a proper website and decide what level of polished-ness (??) work i’m gonna put up here.
