gaiafarnese:
the pace she walked in was quick — she knew the route so well she could have walked it with her eyes closed. the stairs that had been sculpted into the bedrock were a slightly difficult to descend with grace. “ no, no. there are lightbulbs. nothing bad ever happens when lightbulbs are involved. “ she turned her head to look at lis over her shoulder. her hand kept pulling her along. “ it’s only tragic if it ends, no ? ” once her foot touched the smooth concrete of the pier she twirled around and pulled lis by the hand a bit harshly so that the girl came tumbling into her arms. “ listen, lis. ” she brushed a lock of the princess’ hair behind her ear. her hand lingered on the edge of her face. her delicate fingers lay on the other’s soft cheek. “ if you don’t stop me, i’m going to kiss you. ”
Gaia was walking every quickly down steps that Lis wasn’t so sure about. She could see these being used by a lady of the renaissance, running down these steps to flea with her lover on his ship. Her family asleep above none the wiser. She could also see herself falling to her death or breaking an ankle. But she managed to keep up with the Italian until the very last few steps when she was pulled, falling into the others arms. She wanted to agree with Gaia, but she didn’t have much time, just looking at her in awe for a few moments was enough for her to have change subject. One that made her blush, both at Gaia’s words and her soft touch, and ever so softly smile. It wasn’t the first time it would happen. But she had always been too nervous to bring it up, or even think too much about it. Thinking about it would bring up so many other questions she wasn’t ready to answer about herself. But they were alone, under a starry night right out of a painting. And she wanted to kiss Gaia. She leaned into her touch for a second before leaning forward and kissing the Italian herself
