It's crazy when you look back and see who you used to be and realize that the person you are now is completely different. I never saw the change coming, it just happened I guess. . . it was a slow, hard, painful process. Sometimes life just sucks and it seems like we'll never make it through the hard times, but it's in those times we learn the most, because it's in the valleys we grow.

Sometimes as an expecting mother you need to take time for yourself to breathe, contemplate, and slow down. As humans we want life to speed up which is why we have microwaves, cell phones, and airplanes. Although all these things are beneficial and have their place it's important to remember that it's okay to slow down. It's okay to enjoy the little moments of life because before you know it life passes you by. I loved documenting these maternity shoots this weekend because they reminded me how absolutely special it is to take time for self reflection and creativity.
