Poly trim BotW AU
Zoey is Zelda, Mira is Link, Rumi is Ganon.
The Honmoon is anti evil force that chooses 3 to go against ganondorf- gwi-ma. The generation hits where the three, each embodying a different aspect, Zoey’s hundred mile an hour brain as knowledge, Mira’s straightforward approach as courage, and Rumis strength of mind/will/body as power. Gwi-ma corrupted a champion, who was Rumi’s father, getting a hold of her. She decided that if he was going to have her body, he couldn’t have her mind or power, building up mental walls to block anything else, but Zoey and Amira don’t know what happened, and feel betrayed when a wrong looking Rumi turns on everyone. The hunters didnt lose, bit Rumi did. The Honmoon starts the reincarnation here, in hopes of saving not just the world, but also Rumi. Every reincarnation is possessed, with the reincarnations of Zomora having a deep seated resentment which disguises an even deeper love. We hit the BotW generation, the hunters finally lose, but late bloomer magic Zoey saves her knight in long sleep, and holds of the evil, which is strangely muted for an unstoppable entity, but thats not as important as holding it back until Mira can come for her. Mira gets out, goes on quests, regains memories, fights monsters, and eventually runs into a strange tribe led by a strange man, who is insistent that Ganon is not the evil, but Mira doesn't let anyone plant seeds of doubt on her way to her princess. they fight, the hero wins, the monster is defeated, and something falls out. after a century of exposure to the pure light of Zoeys magic, Rumi is free. everyone freaks out. here was q girl trapped in there the whole time?!? ganon was a manifestation of a generational possession to weaken the full force of the champion hunters?!? Mira is sus, zoey wants to get to know her, and rumi is facing the first life she gets to love out without dying to the people she loves, without even remembering why she loves them. from here it could go into an overhaul of TotK or a entirely different side story, since the original plot is already dead st this point.
basically, mira going on side quests, zoey unlocking knowledge of the universe, and rumi having a Great Time.
Another botw option would be Rumi as Link, Mira as Zelda, and Zoey as a traveler.
Mira’s natural magical skepticism would be like Zelda’s, pushing for an alternative, but she doesn’t have the tech savvy, so she relies more heavily on direct combat training, while trying to push the king toward looking at the ancient technology and finding people who can use it.
Rumi just fits, Mira won’t like her at first, but she’ll do her job, and feels duty bound to maintain the stoic soldier image and master her skills for the final battle. She doesn’t win, gets saved by Mira, healing for 100 years. Gets out, no memory, doesn’t talk much, runs into a traveler who looks at her and says, I will follow you now.
Zoey is the traveler, born during the calamity, like a year younger than Rumi when they meet, but also there’s a century in there and they both use it to win arguments. Zoey went back and forth between her parents villages so much, she felt like the closest to home she got was the path in between, so when she got old enough, she set out to find what other paths were out there. As she follows Rumi on her journey, home on the trails slowly shifts to home on the trail with her, so of course she would join the fight against ancient evil, it’s probably a more defined goal than wandering, even if it does seem to include a lot of it.
so on so forth, totk is a distant dream, canon does not exist, but the girls are together so it’s fine.
