Next stop: Waitomo, New Zealand
This was the first time I properly felt like I was travelling, our first activity! The bus collected us at 6am and we were off. We had booked the cheapest experience of the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves which consisted of a 45 minute walk around followed by a 10 minute boat journey; which was definitely all we needed. The caves were absolutely beautiful but you aren’t allowed to take photos inside as it can interfere with the glow. As for the boat journey, we could definitely tell that we were no longer in England and were surrounded by tourists - no one knew how to queue! After the experience we sat down for lunch at the café and had one of the nicest burgers I’ve ever eaten in my life, it’s always nice to treat yourself after all! We then went on to do a ‘bush walk’ to pass the time for everyone on our bus to finish their experience and saw some incredible views (as well as getting a little bit lost) and just enjoyed being outside in the sun.
