I think there are some things that need to be addressed, such as the current thread situation, the OP ( @nonbinary-hawke ) of the thread and just the general aggression towards people with different opinions. 

Okay, so uh, people seem to be jumping in on the thread taking what OP says at face value without actually looking in to anything they’re saying. OP’s ‘sources’ are links to Tumblr posts, some of which include websites like mysteriousuniverse.org which features many ads relating to conspiracy theories rather than culture. 

OP often contradict themselves, and there are several areas of their blog(s) that are problematic. Take this section on their main blog, that explicitly states that they are white and not to call them Native American. 

OP also states that they are not able to enroll in their tribe because their mothers membership expired but this is contradicted on the actual site for the tribe they say they are apart of. They also say that they are too old to enroll separately, but the age limit is 21 years-old which they say they currently are, and they have been pursuing the culture since 2018. 

Why is any of this valid? You don’t get to decide what culture people are from, Fen. This is correct, however, people are using the excuse that “OP is native so you shouldn’t question them” towards people who do not support the suggestion. This page features a user named Bumblecrow, who uses this reasoning above. 

So far, 11:11pm EST, July 8th, those have voiced that they do not support the suggestion have been nothing but respectful, however, they are still met with aggression from both the OP and other(Oriel) users(rottenbird) that support the suggestion.

A note: I’m Jewish by blood, I’m also queer and trans. I’m one of those folks who’s right on the top of the list of right wing undesirables. Does this make me free of accountability? No, but it’s important context/worth noting.

Also important context: I’ll admit that these dragons are edgy, like oh my goodness you could cut your hands on that edge -- they’re also 4 years old. Pre-Charlottesville, pre-Unite the Right, pre-nazis invading political office.

So why didn’t I delete them right away? I took a long break from Flight Rising ‘cause I didn’t have time or interest and only in the past couple weeks have I been putting effort into remaking and retaining my lair. I was planning on grinding the treasure to rename those dragons, but since I’ve never been good at the grind despite playing the game for five years, now I’m just going to delete them.

If you run ’Dom Watch’ or are the organizer or an announcer for your Flight’s Dominance Activities and events, you shouldn’t be allowed to block a bunch of people. You are providing a public service and should be expected to provide an unbiased service– as detailed in the ToS.

You are interfering with players ability to participate in the entire website’s community and events based on the personal bias of either yourself or someone else– probably from Tumblr. 

I know some people have this delusion that ’Oh, well, it’s my right to cut off someone from the community if I deem them ‘harmful’’ and first of all… no, it isn’t– it’s actually against the ToS.

Secondly, your experiences and perceptions are not universal and you have zero right to pass judgment on someone you haven’t had a personal experience with. Even then, don’t be a public worker if you don’t want to work for the PUBLIC– not who you pick and choose based on one-sided opinions.  

If you’re going knowingly block people that you know participate in Dominance while choosing to continue organizing public events– essentially playing God and Micro-Modding– then the Community as a whole deserves someone willing to take the job more seriously. 

These players no longer have a way of knowing things are happening, which not only harms them but the community as a whole, as well as the Flights they are in and those of the people who would otherwise benefit from their participation. 

If you can’t deal with the idea of needing to present an unbiased service when you are providing a public service that everyone depends on, then you don’t need to be the one doing it.

If you can’t divorce yourself from being influenced by other people’s drama to do your work– even volunteer work– then you shouldn’t be doing it. 

I would say that someone else could start up their own version of ‘Dom Watch’, but the last time that happened you all shat yourselves like babies and turned into a frothing rabid mob. 

Suck it up and do the job right or find someone else who will.

I hope staff see B/SW’s behaviour as scamming. Because when it comes down to it dragons are a type of item, and knowingly lying about the value of an item with intent to receive the item at a lower price via deception is, on most games, seen as a form of scamming.

What happens once an item leaves your account is up to the new owner, and I will defend that forever, but *receiving* that item in a disgenuine manner and manipulating the original owner so that the item leaves their account is disgraceful and should not be defended.

“Do your research” is a poor excuse. Someone trusting another user to be honest should NOT reflect badly on the victim, and the person lying SHOULD face consequences. And “maybe they changed their minds” doesn’t apply. It doesn’t matter if there is a resale or not; they still preformed the initial scams for cheap items. Whether those sit in their lair or are resold doesn’t matter. They lied about something’s value, and received something through deception.

It’s seen as scummy when pawn shop owners lie to people about the value of antiques. So why not in this instance, hm? Both values are dictated solely by collectors, and both involve real money (gems are purchased with USD. Fight me.)

Elanyx, formerly known as Silverwolv, has been scamming users out of dragons with special IDs and reselling them for extreme profits. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue, but the method that they use is very scummy and shady.

All strikes are going to be placed moving forward. Founder Benzyne’s strikes are grandfathered in, as are everyone else’s, because the rule was not in place when they committed them.

This is extremely irresponsible and no way to run a group. If anything, the worst offender of these bad faith trades is Benzyne, and she has indeed admitted what she’s done is wrong and that she doesn’t care, either. This is despicable, and does nothing to help SIDREP’s piss poor image. In fact, all it says to the common person is “yeah we know our leader treats people like shit, but we’re only mad about these types of trades now, so it doesn’t matter! :)” You’re protecting scammers, and that’s disgusting.

Let us not forget Benzyne’s original rule back before her account was banned. She’s demonstrated that even after the removal of this “bonus” tip on the new thread, she continues to follow it in order to scam and flip IDs right under people’s noses…and you’re just choosing to irresponsibly ignore it.

Many are aware now that she’s a scammer, and those same people are avoiding her and SIDREP like the plague as a result. As long as Benzyne heads the group, it will have a bad name to it. Simple as that.

So is it common practice for SIDREP members to lie about why they are buying dragons to auction them at a mark up? If this is not answered, I will assume yes and take the necessary actions. You have 24 hours to explain.

We do not lie, we simply omit the information that the dragon has a special ID in order to achieve a lower price. Here at SIDREP, we believe that it is the buyer’s responsibility to notice and take advantage of any characteristics of the dragon that may make it sell for more.

If someone hypothetically hatched a first-generation Primal and didn’t notice the eye type when selling it (yes, it’s highly unlikely to happen, but this is a thought experiment) would it be the buyer’s fault for buying it at the price its owner pegged it at?
