Throne of Glass was my first fav fae fiction YA series and will always have a special place in my heart. I have hate posts on ACOTAR but I do not hate Sarah J Maas. I think she is a wonderful author has plans and explanations ahead, and definitely knows what her fans think about the acotar series and will answer all our questions.

Rhysand could've worked if we acknowledged his ATROCIOUS amount of flaws, and gave him fucking consequences, like dying. Instead, we get a performative feminist who only cares about the women he's attracted to or needs to use as weapons. Making him the 'correct' love interest after the shit he pulled UtM was by far, the lesser fucking choice, considering we brush off his SA like it didn't happen. Go feminist, go strip a drugged woman of her autonomy and parade her around almost naked before making her grind on another man. In my version, Rhysand is the villain who wants Tamlin so bad, it makes him look pathetic. I wanted hannigram level toxicity, but worse. Keep the idea that Rhysand is this benevolent/righteous HL only to find out that he mind controls all of Velaris. It would've made him terrifying! The city looks filled with happy people, but they are scarlet witch level controlled by the man who leads them. Give me an obsessed Rhysand who looses his mind after the loss of his whole FUCKING FAMILY. Obsessed with the Spring HL, because its the closest relation he had until the incident. I'm literally just throwing ideas but the thought of a charismatic and charming Rhysand who helped people from the IC because he simply needed their powers in the long term. Who offered a helping hand to Morrigan, only for her to realise that she's traded one cage for another. You step out of bounds or waver your loyalty for him? Prepare to feel your mind split in half and suddenly the words that come out of your mouth aren't yours. I want a tired Mor, who fell for it in a moment of vulnerability, because that's exactly what he does. Prey on the vulnerable, pretend to be their guardian angel when he's nothing but the devil. People saying Rhysand was the only one who taught Feyre to read and write and that Tamlin wanted to keep Feyre illiterate...

Tamlin shows her his library, literally offers to teach her, to help her write her letters. And she says no.

He then writes her a series of limericks using words that he knows she struggles with (!) to help her understand their meaning through context.

Hello?? He tried writing love poems at first and then turned to filthy limericks instead. My heart.

That's so sweet! It's funny, it's witty. He's helping her while being careful to not embarrass her. He cares. He notices her struggle. He teaches her without patronizing her. Makes her laugh. Sharing something about himself in the process.

And he does it without having her write lines about him being the most handsome, most powerful and bestest man in the entire world. Funny how that's possible.

Do you guys think about how the moment Percy was casted as blond, blue eyed boy his poverty wasn't mentioned, his abuser became a comic relief, the media calling him a delinquent and a terrorist was removed and camp never excluded him? Because I do, a lot

Fun Fact: Nesta, Tamlin, and Lucien aren't nearly as problematic as Feyre and the IC.

rip tamlin you deserve an author who would be interested in your complexities and more than willing to tell your story instead of coasting on vibes and having her precious fav do all the things that you did but sweep it under the rug instead of having him face consequences

When Rhysand’s mother decided his future wife must be able to escape the clutches of a death god in order to prove her love for her son, Rhysand straight up surrendered Feyre to the Weaver. He sent his mate to a trap no other fae ever survived solely to satisfy his dead mother and his own ego.

When Tamlin had to make a woman profess her love for him in order to save all of Prythian at the risk of her getting harmed, he sent Feyre home.

Don’t ever get it twisted.

Friendly reminder that when Tamlin was telling Feyre about his past lovers, "warriors" is gender neutral meaning a certain half-Illyrian warrior who gifted him fighting knives and hadn't become High Lord yet would perfectly fit the bill.

Me: When Rhys visited Tamlin on Solstice he asked for a cup of tea knowing full well Tamlin had no servants anymore therefore he wanted Tamlin to personally make him tea and Tamlin doesn't say anything but he lets him in so it's implied he agrees to make him tea but we never see any tea in that scene which means Tamlin either forgot or purposely stood him up and then Rhys tries to fight him and tells him he hopes he's miserable forever.

why deep down something is telling me that the two books coming are going to disappoint me - i would love to be wrong

the series is already messy with limited povs and multiple plot holes and from hearing the way the two books have been written and the different lengths of both the the books by a lot is crazy to me

i am actually scared to how i am going to be reacting

You know what’s pissing me off about SJM’s interviews ? The woman can’t speak!

I have yet to watch an interview where she makes three full sentences back to back without filler words. It’s exhausting to listen to and she sounds like a 14 year old with no vocabulary.

I mean the woman is a writer, for heaven’s sake!

i was genuinely shocked by how many times she used the word “like” and repeated multiple sentences whereas alex was so composed and framed her sentences much better - (it was hard to address this because i don’t want to be rude to her and disregard her opening up in the podcast)
