Hello everyone, what are your best things to stop yourself feeling hungry or to stop cravings? Here are mine

1. Gum

Some times you are not physically hungry, you crave taste or texture so gum is great for this. It keeps your mouth busy and makes your body think that you are eating. Mint gum will suppress appetite and makes your mouth minty fresh so you don’t want to eat anything as it will ruin it and it will taste nasty. Fruit or flavoured gum will banish those sweet cravings!

2. Ice

Ice is great to provide texture and again, keep your mouth busy. It is cold and can numb your mouth, and also adds to your water intake which is always a bonus. This brings me to…

3. Water!

Water is my go to appetite suppressor. Chug a glass to fill yourself up and eliminate hunger pains, also if you down it in one it will make you feel nauseous and not want to eat.

4. Balsamic vinegar.

This one may sound weird but balsamic vinegar has a very strong taste and just a teaspoon will suppress sweet and savoury cravings. There is no fat and probably about 2-3 calories per teaspoon.

5. Thinspo

Looking at Thinspos is a good way to give you a wake-up call if you are thinking about binging. Another good method is looking at pictures of fat people or watching shows like Supersize vs Superskinny or The Biggest Loser.

6. Do something productive

Whenever you think about eating/binging, do something instead. Paint your nails, go for a walk, excersize, write your journal, log on to My Pro Ana, draw, paint, stretch, run, do your make-up, call friends or family, plan outfits - anything to take your mind off that hunger or that craving.
