OOC: A little bit of a reference sheet for Flashfry and Shuttlebug, an Insecticon and her Foodtruck/RV. Flashfry is all of 12 feet tall, and Shuttlebug is. Taller? Some amount tall. Neither of them are from a specific canon, but Flashfry IS supposed to be sized more to G1 or Beast Wars.

ooc: And here's a closer look at some of the bits and bobs! The human's just a silly little holoform whatsit, and Shuttles really does lay down like that so customers can order.

Today on Weird Finds in the Nearby Cave and Mining Systems: an entire Cybertronian. (Or maybe they're a colonist like Hot Spot..?)

Either way--

Said cybertronian's crouched over something in the cave, the only parts of him being visible being the glow of his optics. He's paused midway through what looks to be putting something in his mouth.

To be completely honest, he looks like a vampire.

Blackguard makes a sharp, delighted gasp as her shoulders hunch up and tense. Is she allowed to? She reaches out, cautiously, but definitely still trying to make contact and pet the poor, prickly thing. "Oh, you need a good bath and brushing, huh baby?"

OOH OKay so I drew this in half an hour, maybe I’ll try and fully design them or color them at least later BUUT here are some forest dwelling creatures I’ve thought of with a few automical facts!

Photonic-Groundslicer

1) Solar Panel Antlers: Large, yet docile creatures, these dwellers of the forest floor hold magnificent ‘antler’s on their helmets, which gives them their primary source of energy, never need sleep, merely a few hours standing underneath the crystal trees that produce the most glow, helms inclined upwards so their solar panels can get the most light. Usually their solar panels aren’t flared otherwise, unless as a threat display.

2) Nasal Sensor Rod:

Able to sense EMF, movement and energy fields in general, they seem to use it to sense any danger, highly energised trees and even food sources. Grows over the course of a few years into adulthood, otherwise relying on their herd for that kind of information gathering until they have a functioning one of themselves.

3) Audio Receptors

Highly sensitive, able to pick up the quietest rustle and change of stance within a 20ft radius. Very, very hard to sneak up on.

4) Pede Scythes

Since they not only need energy but nutrition to power their frames, they will graze on Obsidian Steeled Blades that grow on the ground near energon pools. Since they can’t be ripped out, they use those scythes on their pedes to cut off the thinner parts, to then eat.

5) Flaring Hindquarter Fan

Mainly used during the times where they find a mate, they quickly unfold and fold their hind-plating, making thunderous claps in hopes of impressing another with the sheer volume. If a whole herd is in that stage it can sound like there’s an applauding crowd in the middle of the woods.

Skydwelling Hexapod

High energetic, ferret like lemur-cat creatures, this elusive hexapod makes it’s home on the crowns of the Enertrees, living an omnivorous life of grabbing anything filled with energon and sucking it dry with their syphon-like teeth. They rarely are seen on the ground, if there is one found, then they are either sick, injured, or dying. As well as all of that, they are active when darkness falls, and all the glowing flora comes to life in the forest

6) Twin-pronged Scanner

Delicate little things, yet highly affective. They are able to change position of this 'crest’ they hold, which studies have shown are used as a minimal lightsource, and a sensor that can read any heatsource and creature surrounding them in a medium radius. While mostly relying on their eyes, these sensors help them find hidden energon flora, insects, and all sorts of meals.

7) 3 Grabber arms

While relatively small, one must not underestimate the sheer power these creatures hold in their arms is ridiculous. Incredibly fast, they can use all 3 on both sides to grab and hold their prey and/ or food in a nanosecond, much like a praying mantis. Once they have a hold, it’s very unlikely you’ll be able to salvage yourself from these creatures, as once they hold something they consider food, they’ll find an energon line or pocket and suck whatever it can dry with their vampire-like teeth.

8) Grooved Tail

These tail with sharp prongs on it’s end is mainly used to hold on to branches, the jagged edges giving them a secure grip, meaning they can grapple on to anything and not get pryed off by most creatures.

Skywhistler

Loud, skittish, near constantly on the move, these creatures more often than not are heard, rather than seen. Often found in swarms of 8-16 individuals, these lead a social life of grooming eachother, sharing food, singing and chattering near 24/7. At night they’ll gather under branches or on trunks, huddled together to preserve warmth and to offer protection to the weakest or youngest by keeping those in the middle. Their namesake comes from the fact that their notched wings emit a loud whistle whenever they zip from one place to the other. This also unfortunately makes them easy prey for the Skydwelling Hexapod, but due to the sheer numbers of offspring they produce, they make by.

9) Horned Beak

The front segment is able to light up, mostly a social tool to convey their current emotion to their flock-mates, to attract a mate, and as a way to fight for territory- those able to emit the brightest flashes winning usually. The horn serves no other purpose, but considering it’s appearance it also has been documented with using it to defend itself.

10) Tail scanner

On the end of their impressive tail plating, is a long wire with two satellite-dish like growths. They keep it up right at all times, sometimes vigorously shaking it in a small circle, making a small humming noises with it when on the search for food. Scientific exploration has concluded they measure the amount of energon in a tree with that, to decide where to feed from.

11) Energon needle

Much like a humminbird, this Skywhistler will be seen with other members hooked on to the tree trunks, beaks piercing the energon lines crawling up said trunks, until they’ve got their fill. This is their only food source yet to have been documented being eaten by these creatures.

12) Wing prongs

On the front of their large wings are long, sturdy hooks that the Skywhistler uses to latch on to the trunks of the enertrees, as well as to groom their flock-mates. They will also use it to pierce on to branches or trunks when they sleep at night.

13 Temperature regulator

On those horn are indents, or rather shafts that main function is to be the temperature regulator of the Skywhistler, able to keep itself warm in the colder seasons and cool in the warmer ones, if the horn hasn’t been damaged.
