Hello! Sorry for my lack of activity. I’m a distracted individual with interests that hardly ever settle on one thing, so I’m on and off this blog sporadically and without warning. I’m back now, though, and hopefully for a while, but my reasons don’t align with previous ones. Read ahead if you’re curious.

I’ve been thinking of making a little ask blog for Robin and their friends, but it differs from this one in that I reply to questions with art! It’ll give me the opportunity to improve my (rather rough) skills on the drawing tablet, as well as the chance to improve my art in general and develop my characters. A win-win situation, if I do say so myself!

Before I dare dedicate myself to this rather large project (because, knowing me, I’ll manage to turn it into a too-big project that I will most likely be very unprepared for), I want to see if I have the stuff to actually go through with it. So, this is my test run.

Any asks sent directed to any of my muses on this blog will be replied to with art. Sadly, all but Robin and Genji’s character designs are decided, so asks aimed to Wren, Pigeon, and Denken will be on hold until I settle on their appearances. Don’t let that dissuade you from asking them questions, though; the more asks directed to them, the more eager I’ll be to finally come up with a look for them!

The style I reply with may vary, anything from the cartoon style in the banner to a more realistic style should I find the motivation. I want to find a style that’s easy to use but still contains at least some quality.

I hope to do this for about a week, but nothing is confirmed and I may keep this going for a longer or shorter amount of time. As it stands,

     Wren hummed and his smile, still genuine and unforced, remained in place. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Lucas.” He glanced down at the younger boy before directing his attention forward, eyes lingering on a small patch of yellow flowers growing to the right of the sidewalk not too far ahead. “I normally don’t have company on my way to the park. Thank you for joining me.”

                    He didn’t pick up

                                                on any ill intent, so after a beat, there was                                                 a nod. Still, it was soundless; part of him                                                 was in a fog, occupied by memories he                                                 didn’t dare voice.

     “Let’s go then.” His smile turned a little more cheerful and he straightened, turning in the direction of the park. He didn’t question the others silence, knowing it would be best not to press. “I’m Wren, by the way.”

                    ❝ Mm — I’m sure. ❞

                                                It wasn’t something he could be open                                                 about; not with anyone who didn’t know.                                                 ( But he’d never been the most convincing                                                 of liars. )

     His words did little to convince Wren and he hummed thoughtfully, lips pursed. “Something tells me you’re not.” He replied lightly, looking the boy in the eyes and offering a sympathetic smile. “You don’t have to tell me, though. I was heading to the park. Do you want to walk with me?”

His smile fell away and he crouched so that he was more at level with the boy, concern evident in his eyes. “Are you sure?” His tone was gentle, prompting.

     Wren offered a smile to the younger boy. “It’s alright. Are you okay?”

“Aw, fuck. Shit, I’m sorry. I didn’t see you there.” Pigeon cringed at the water she had spilled down the strangers front, and raised her eyes to meet theirs apologetically.

Pigeon lets her abrasiveness get to her head. She doesn’t mean it.

W r e n is water, a bubbling stream. His smiles light up the room.

                      The reaction comes too slowly, too late; lips press into a line                       at the tone her voice takes on, and he shifts in his seat, though                       there’s an arm around him and a hand traveling upward. Try as                       he might to pull back from the contact, he’s slow to realize her                       intentions & within seconds he can feel the air on newly exposed                       flesh.

                      For a moment he can only sit in defeat, but he quickly comes out                       of his trance & shrugs his jacket back on. The zipper comes all                       the way back up; their eyes never meet.

Her laughter quickly loses traction, but her mirth doesn’t fade in the slightest. She straightens, placing a hand on his shoulder and grinning merrily up at him despite his diverted gaze.

When he says nothing, she just slugs him in the arm. “Aww, c’mon. Cheer the fuck up, ya big-ass baby. I’ve seen my fair share of hickeys.” Her smile softened just the slightest, but the sharp edge was not dulled. “Nothing to be ashamed of. Only reason anyone’d laugh at you is because they’re jealous and tryin’a hide it. They ain’t the ones gettin’ laid.”

                      He isn’t sure he likes the almost sickeningly                       sweet way her lips curl upward, & without                       even realizing he’s tugged up his collar further.

                      ❝ N-no, I mean, it’s hot, but not that hot — I’m                       fine, this isn’t that warm anyway — ❞

Pigeon slings an arm around Nate’s shoulder, grin still in place. “Ya sure? I wouldn’t want to wear a jacket in this weather.” Discreetly, her other hand is rising. “Maybe you should remove a layer.” Her voice takes a flirtatious lilt, but the underlying tones of mischievousness makes her intentions clear; her next actions, even more so.

She’s suddenly grabbing the zipper of his jacket and jerking it down; at the same time, the arm around his shoulder pulls back and she grasps the back of his jacket, yanking at it. She doesn’t bother trying to take it all the way off; his neck is revealed and that’s all she needs to see, and then she’s laughing so hard that she’s doubling over.

        【❄】— ；It was no surprise to find him away from the busy crowds —

                            after hours of circling with no fruits for his labor, he retreated                             to the quieter parts of town. Though these quieter parts were                             littered with alleyways, and he strayed from them; well as he                             could, anyway. Though through the ( relative ) silence there                             came groans, breaths lost and cracks loud enough to make                             him flinch away. And then begin toward them — curse that                             tendency of his.

                           He watched from around a corner, learned quickly that the                            conflict had withered away already, though that left him to                            gaze upon the aftermath. The victor and the fallen were                            clearly distinguishable, though neither escaped without                            damage — the former left with bruises and fresh blood                            dripping like wet paint across a blank canvas. Prominent;                            bold.

                           For a moment every nerve and bone was paralyzed, but it                            wasn’t long before time resumed its normal cadenced tick,                            tock and he entered the alleyway. The one who had taken                            the fight barely scraped five feet; it was a miracle nothing                            appeared broken.

                           ( But then, perhaps he wasn’t looking. )

                           ❝ Hey — ❞

                           It was a quavering breath.

                           ❝ Are you — ❞

She was observing her right hand, still curled into a loose fist. It hurt too much to straighten the middle digit and she assumed that it was probably a small fracture, but before she could decide on whether or not she should head to the hospital or to home, someone spoke from her right.

The voice came unexpectedly and she pushed herself from the wall, whipping around to face its source. Unconsciously, she had dropped into a wary stance, ready to defend herself despite her current state, but a good look at the stranger and a moment to register his hesitant words assured her that he wasn’t there to fight for the fallen. She allowed herself to straighten, again wiping away the blood still dripping from her nose.

"Yo. I’m good.” Her tone was matter-of-fact, nonchalant, perhaps still a little winded. And then she was grinning, jerking a thumb to the unconscious body behind her. “The bastard tried to grab me, probably cause I’m small.” A laugh. “You can see how well that went.”

Pigeon was used to some spectators to her fights. She had no idea how long this one had been around, but she was sure he hadn’t been there for the beginning, and these fights never lasted long. Red eyes could clearly be seen even in the shadows of the alley, and she found it oddly disconcerting. She looked him up and down before meeting his eyes again, granting him a less toothy grin. “I’m Pigeon,” she offered.

"The bigger they are, the harder they fall” is one of the truest statements Pigeon had ever had the pleasure of seeing.

It only took a final, well-placed blow to knock the larger man, already unbalanced due to a painful kick in the groin she had administered just seconds ago, down. There was a satisfying smack as he made contact with the ground, and she saw his head bang against the hard concrete.

He was out, she knew, but there was no fucking way he was getting off that easy. Without hesitation, she stomped down hard on his hand, bones cracking beneath her boot, and then spat on him. “That was for grabbing me. And that,” She snarled, following up with a kick to his stomach, “was for splitting my fucking lip.”

And then she backed away, eyeing the unconscious body before letting herself relax, leaning against one of the walls of the alleyway. A hand went up to touch the huge bruise that was undoubtedly forming on her right check, and she wiped away some of the blood dripping from her nose. At least he didn’t break it.
