Say what you want about 911 but there is not another show on tv that does it like them. Over 60% of their recurring cast is black. They have multiple asian and latine cast members in recurring speaking roles. There are scenes in almost every episode where there are no white people present or talked about. They tackle multiple different forms of mental illness, multiple different forms of disability, and multiple different forms of abuse. They showcase many ways families are comprised both in the main recurring cast and in background characters. They have multiple lgbt characters in the main recurring cast and in the background. Name another show that does it like them. You can’t.
