You know how capable, how effective you can be. Engage that effectiveness to its fullest extent today.
Why it’s worth rowing early in the morning #nofilter
Ready for adventure.
Nervous about not being good enough :// any advice??
One of my favorite parts of rowing was the idea that everyone in the boat is pulling together, that there’s no way to have an MVP because you just know everyone is pulling their heart out. It can be easy to compare your erg scores and times and stuff, but when it gets right down to it, you have to know you’re in that boat pulling just as hard and with just as much heart as everybody else. As long as you leave it all on the water, and put in every single bit of strength you have, you’re right there with everybody else.
Also don’t let the fear of not being good enough hold you down. Get in the boat every day because you love what you’re doing, and put in maximum effort because you know you’re capable of it. If you’re really concerned, you can always ask coaches or captains for a little extra help with technique or some new workouts. They won’t think of you as falling behind or not being good enough, but as wanting to improve yourself.
in a lot of the testimonials I've heard, rowers said they started as high school freshmen. I'm almost 17 and as of this fall will be a senior in high school. is it too late to try and start?
Absolutely not! Rowing is a lifetime sport, which means you can start it at any point in life and continue it throughout your life. A lot of people don’t even start until adulthood! You should absolutely go for it, it’s never too late.
Happy National Women in Sports Day!
Hey what's your 2k time?
I haven’t been able to 2k in a long time, but my last one was 8-something. Not fantastic
