I saw you saw project hail Mary!! I headcanon grace as a little and age regressor X3 Rocky (and Adrian) would be sure to take good care of him when he goes smol.

I liked the book better but yeah I can see it- Rocky thinks these are normal Human Things- Grace is probs embarassed about regressing like Rocky is about eating and it IS kinda similar so Grace doesnt contradict him

Thinking about what if Stratt didn’t have time to pack any of Grace’s comfort items like plushies or blankies or wasn’t able to have the space to pack them. And at first Grace tries to tell himself that it’s not a big deal because he hasn’t felt safe enough to be little until after sending off the beetles and finding Rocky again.

Little Grace has an absolute melt down and gets so distressed that none of his familiar comfort things are there. The good luck quilt, while nice, just isn’t what he wants or remembers. He’s just inconsolable while Rocky desperately tries to make new toys for Grace and sing him soothing songs because it hurts to see little Grace in so much distress. He would do liters anything to fix it.

It didn't bother him much for the longest time,he was too busy saving two suns and learning about well, about himself! Grace honestly probably forgot about his regression for a really long time (chalking up those yearns to regress as just weird space stress)

But when he is finally safe, where he feels safe enough to regress. Well....tiny Grace is a mess.

He doesn't have his loveys, his teddies and blankie are all 11 years away!! Heck they're probably thrown away by now (they're not, Stratt made sure they were collected and kept safe even though she knew it was a one way trip). So he's a weepy, sad little boy💔💔

Nothing is familiar!! Everything is so scary for such a little guy!! He just wants his comfort items!! (Yes Ilyukhina's teddy is there but, that's not his!)

Rocky is very concerned, he's heard Grace cry before, humans are leaky that way. But never heard this pitch, never this level of sorrow and pain ;0;

He sings, he soothes, he nudges himself as close as he can in his ball. But Grace is still so sad and weepy💔

Rocky 100% does immediately start building toys and other items that pebbles on Erid find comfort in. They definitely aren't like the toys and comfort items Grace had on earth but, he was trying his best!

Grace hiccups and sniffles when Rocky starts jingling a toy in his ball, it's some geometric shape and had some type of bell in it and there are dangling bits that dance when Rocky shakes it.

It does have Grace stop crying because the little guy is confused and interested in the toy. Which, Rocky will take at this point, anything to even slightly soothe Grace 😭

something something littles are known/biological agere au where smaller littles have to be fed primarily milk because that's the way their digestive system works- feed them more solid, "adult" food, and they wont take in the calories they need as their bodies can't process them.

when robby and dennis get together, robby discovers that not only had his dennis not had a caregiver since he'd left broken bow several years ago, he also had been living off of swiped sandwiches from the hospital- which, due to the fact he regressed pretty much as young as was possible, were feeding him almost nothing. his baby was starving and he'd had no idea.

their new routine together was much better. now dennis had a doting, well-off boyfriend and caregiver, his diet changed from being almost entirely unsuitable for his body, to being practically one hundred percent warm milk, which robby would bottle feed him as he dozed in the older mans arms.

it takes less than a few weeks after they get together and robby gives him a safe space to regress properly (and good food) that denny looks noticeably more healthy. finally having access to milk several times a day meant that he put weight back on and stopped looking like a sallow victorian ghost, instead giving him rosy cheeks and a warm glow so indicative of a healthy little.

robby's favourite part of the day was always when they'd come home from shifts and his baby would drop immediately, snuggling into him and whimpering and smacking his lips together to tell his daddy that he was hungry. he'd make his baby a large bottle before settling in the rocking chair in their bedroom, and he'd feed him as they swayed gently.

being able to look down at his little one suckling away with contented little hums and gurgles as his belly filled was so special for robby- now denny was safe and full and in his arms, getting exactly what was right for him. when the little one had finished his meal and was drifting off into a mixture of a food coma and sleep, robby would replace the bottles teat with a pacifier (another luxury dennis hadn't afforded himself before robby) and swaddle dennis up in a blanket before moving them to the bed to sleep.

his baby had a habit of cooing and huffing in his sleep as he sucked his pacifier and nuzzled into his daddy's neck, and robby could've cried for happiness and love seeing just how much healthier he was, and how his once pitifully empty tummy was now full and rounded out, helping to make his sweetheart nice and strong. much better.

Waa heres a snippet of my agere dennis whitaker fic!

It has been a hard shift; he was late this morning and had to jump on a trauma right when he got in. It was a car crash, one passenger was injured, a few broken bones and a big cut on his head. In the other car were a mother and daughter. The mother died on impact, and the daughter was fatally injured. Neither of them were wearing seatbelts. 

The daughter was heavily injured, unconscious when she got wheeled in. They coded her for 3 hours but she ended up dying. After their moment of silence Whitaker had rushed out and cried in the bathroom. His head started feeling fuzzy but he’s willed it down, it was too early. 

He went through the rest of his shift clumsily, Tripping over carts and dropping things. He tried to avoid Robby’s concerned looks, practically running away when he saw him. He managed to keep this up all day. He hurried out of the building at the end of his shift thinking he was in the clear when he felt a hand on his shoulder.  

He turned around and stood face to face with Robby. Looking up at him with big eyes. The older man smiled “Hey kid, you alright?” Dennis nodded, not trusting his voice. Robby’s smile faltered at the silence “Do you have a ride him back to Santos?” Dennis nodded. “Bud” He said quietly, looking down at his feet. “By bus?” He cleared his troath. “How about I give you a ride? It’s already eight and I don’t want you getting into any trouble. I know how ruthless the evening busses can be.” He squeezed Dennis’s shoulder.  

 He looked up and cocked his head “Bige?” Robby smiled. “Yeah, do you want that?” Dennis thought for a second and nodded hesitantly. Robby led them to the bike, not removing his hand from Dennis's shoulder. 

Robby grabbed the helmet from his bag and slid it onto Dennis's head. Before clicking it shut and adjusting the straps to fit around his head snugly. He climbed onto the bike and patted the backseat. "Just hold onto me, it'll be okay.” Dennis climbed onto the bike and hesitantly placed his hands on Robby's waist. The older man reached by and wrapped Dennis's arms around his waist. ‘That’s better.’ Robby started the engine and started driving. 

 When they got on the highway the wind got loud. Dennis whined at the sound of the wind hurting his ears. Robby heard this and put a hand on Dennis’, stroking his hand with his thumb. “We're almost there.” He said loud enough for him to hear. Dennis nodded and pressed himself against Robby, feeling the heat of the man’s skin even though his jacket. 

They pulled up to Trinity’s apartment, Robby shut of his bike. “Here we are.” He said. Dennis didn’t move. Robby smiled and slowly removed Dennis’s arms from his waist. He got of the bike and helped the younger boy off. His eyes were glassy and unfocused. 

Putting a hand on his back he walked him to the door, Dennis’s steps were unsteady.  He fumbled with his keys. Robby slowly grabbed his keys out of his hands and opened the door for him. “There we are” His voice was soft.

Realistically, I think that if Dennis confessed to age regressing, Robby would never trust him in the ED ever again. "No, no, you just told me that sometimes—at intervals you cannot control—you regress to the mindset of a child. You think I'm going to let you into my ED knowing that?"

However, realistically, Robby is also attached to Dennis. They're trauma bonded. Dennis can't be trusted to be a doctor, he can't be trusted to live independently. May we consider Robby forcibly inserting himself as Dennis' caregiver, igniting a degree of forced infantilism?
