The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin (via whatilearnedfromliterature)
This is what you are at the vein, this small and petty creature. This is the bedrock of your life. Father Earth is right to despise you, but do not be ashamed. You may be a monster, but you are also great.

May Reading Wrap Up
I had a really good month of reading. I know this because I look back at the books I completed and realise that not only were there a good number of them, but some of the first ones I read really feel so long ago. My standouts were definitely Truly Devious, Fahrenheit 451 and Sheets. I read all across my favourite genres in May, and even finished both the Grisha and Lord of the Rings series. Sheets is now one of my new favourite graphic novels of all time, and I was truly surprised when I discovered how much I enjoyed reading Farenheit.Â
Books I read:
1. Ruin and Rising (Grisha #3) - Leigh Bardugo 2. Truly Devious - Maureen Johnson 3. Wintersmith - Terry Pratchett 4. Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury 5. The Return of the King (Lord of the Rings Pt.3) - J.R.R.Tolkien 6. Daisy Jones & the Six - Taylor Jenkins Reid 7. Fragile Things - Neil Gaiman 8. Geekerella - Ashley Poston 9. Sheets - Brenna Thummler Continuing with: The Well of Ascension (Mistborn #2) - Brandon Sanderson (Sitting around 65% on the audio book, so I expect to finish it within the next week). Stay tuned for my June TBR....
I thought, possibly, that what I really needed was to go where nobody knew me and start over again, with none of my previous decisions, conversations, or expectations coming with me.

March Reading Wrap Up
March has beenâŠquite a month. It went by so fast, I had so many things going on (especially with work), I really struggled to keep up with being an âadultâ. I sort of forgot about a bill or twoâŠ.and thereâs a massive stack of paperwork I *really* need to attend to. I also finally had this operation done that Iâd been waiting on for a long time (and then had to take recovery time off work, since I wasnât allowed to drive or lift anything). I mean on the upside, lots more reading got done. I also have continued to develop a taste for audiobooks, which Iâd been listening to now on my drive to and from work, as well as during cardio at the gym. I had a really long drive to go and pick up some stuff from an hour away, and it wasnât nearly so bad (I normally get so bored driving that long), because I made a huge chunk of progress with the book I was listening to!
Books I read this month:
1. Cicada - Shaun Tan 2. Cloudsailors - Hugh Montgomery 3. The Assassinâs Blade (Throne of Glass #0.1-0.5)- Sarah J. Maas 4. Treasure Island -  Robert. L. Stevenson 5. The Final Empire (Mistborn #1) - Brandon Sanderson (Audiobook) 6. The Umbrella Academy V.1: Apocalypse Suite -  Gerard Way 7. Shadow and Bone (Grisha #1) - Leigh Bardugo 8. The Two Towers - J.R.R. Tolkien 9. Seconds - Bryan Lee OâMalley 10. I Shall Wear Midnight (Tiffany Aching #4) - Terry Pratchett (Audiobook) 11. Ms. Marvel V.1 - G. Willow Wilson 12. The Hate You Give - Angie Thomas 13. Siege & Storm (Grisha #2) - Leigh Bardugo (Audiobook)
Continuing with:
14. Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass #7) - Sarah J. Maas (40%)
On that note, Iâve also already passed my Goodreads Challenge goal for 2019 (which was set for 20 books). After I was only really able to read 17 books in 2018, I didnât want to pressure myself too much, but Iâve really got back into a good reading groove so Iâm pretty pleased.
GWelllllllllll here we go. Told myself I wasnât going to attempt any reading challenges but yaknowwhat here we are. Ha! Okay but for real, I couldnât sleep the other night, and I was on pinterest, as you do... and I just decided this wqs happening, and so it is happening. I did participate in the challenge in 2016, so I guess it was about time for round 2.
