Among those who have returned are the not-so-perfect parents of the Mikaelson siblings, Mikael and Esther, whose loyalties remain unknown. With Bonnie’s help, the twins send Kai Parker back into a newly created prison world. And just when the Mikaelson’s thought the return of Mikael and Esther was bad enough, the first three vampires ever turned (The Trinity) arrive in the city just in time to create new problems for the supernatural population.
