Mortal Man
A mortal man; described as: arrogant, obnoxious, divisive, bipolar, stubborn, perplexed, and even narcissistic. We forget that we shed the same blood, carry the same emotions, and breathe the same air as the people we idolize, in one way or another. In today’s times of turmoil, we chastise. We jump to blogs. Forgetting the importance of a primary resource, over secondary. We’re satisfied with content, with no context. Most importantly, we forget. That’s not Nelson like.
Forgetting everything that person gave us. What they’ve done for us. Forgetting how that discography helped us in our darkest times or even kept us at a float in our happiest. More than just music, art, design. All loyalty goes straight out the window with just one rant, one difference in opinions, one change in plans. Forgetting, that in times like this to ask yourself: when shit hits the fan, is you still a fan? (photograph by Albert Watson for Surface Magazine)
