R.I.P. JUNIPER BLESSING.
[SPOILERS FOR GOOD OMENS 3]
I wanted to like the ending of Good Omens 3. I really did. It ends — as it began — in a garden, there was a nightingale, there was a cottage in the South Downs, and before the universe got rebooted, Aziraphale praised Crowley as “the best of us” to God’s face. I could go into issues of pacing, seeing the seeds of storylines that could have flourished given a whole season, and other factors at play.
But at the end of the day, the fact remains that Crowley and Aziraphale *died*. Without having time to fully reconcile, heal, and have joy together afterward. We are meant to take Asa Fell and Professor Anthony Crowley as the two characters we’ve loved — with all their shared history, memories, arguments, romance, sacrifice, silliness, and yearning — as these two humans who found each other later in life and got a happy ending. And don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for Asa and Anthony, but that’s not Aziraphale and Crowley. You know why?
Because it feels the same as this conversation about Job’s children:
Michael: Those ones will be dead.
Aziraphale: We’re not… bringing the old ones back?
Gabriel: Of course not. But we’re giving them new ones.
We're a team, a group. Group of the two of us
I’m sorry but it’s so painfully fucking heteronormative that we got a shot of WEDDING RINGS but not one hug, not one kiss or drop of physical affection that it made my eyes bleed. Bury your gays, but make sure they lose their memories and their pasts first and most definitely don’t show ANY onscreen romance! And the idea that another kiss would just be akin to another F15 is some fucking bullshit. Unbelievable. We should not have to BEG for queer romance and happiness and I resent being made to feel like I should feel grateful for this travesty of a finale
Could you sign it for me? Course. What's your name? Fell. Asa Fell, with an S.
INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE S01E07. “The Thing Lay Still”
I allowed myself to forget how totally I had fallen in love with Lestat’s iridescent eyes, that I’d sold my soul for a many-colored and luminescent thing, thinking that a highly reflective surface conveyed the power to walk on water.
– A. Rice, Interview with the Vampire (1976)

harry potter is so funny they really just categorized 11-yr-olds as either jocks, nerds, betas, or ethnonationalistsÂ
was just Remembering how you’d be out with a friend and you’d each order a different cocktail and you’d ask “what’d you get?” and they’d read the description off the menu and you’d be like “ooh that sounds good” and then they’d say “try it!” and then you’d have a lil sip of their drink and they’d have a lil sip of your drink and you’d decide which one was best and you wouldn’t give each other a life-threatening respiratory infection
Hannah Gadsby: Nanette (2018)
If every working-class person in the world decided this afternoon to install solar panels on their roofs and started biking instead of driving, the ice caps would still melt and the human race would still die off. It simply isn’t possible to end climate change while working within a system that sends all your products overseas in massive supertankers wrapped in unrecycled plastic that will be thrown in a landfill the moment it hits land - and practices like that aren’t going to go away because of your purchasing habits.
Nor are we gonna hit some magical point where using clean energy and reducing waste are suddenly the cheapest or most profitable option and so all the world’s big companies fall over each other to switch over. That has never been the case and never will be - the “free market” isn’t going to save us.
The fact of the matter is, this system needs to be torn down if our species is to survive. We don’t have time to delay the revolution anymore. Capitalism is extinction.Â
“we’re ruining the planet” i’m sorry who is this we i don’t recall myself running a billion dollar oil business
today is earth day! in honor of Mother Earth let’s guillotine every ceo that’s willfully contributing to climate change despite having billions of dollars that could be used to stop it!
