Women in Mexico disappear.
Today is a historic day in my country, we’re fed up with gender violence in Mexico. They’re killing us. Picture this, you can’t walk outside your own house because you fear the worst, you fear that your clothes are too revealing, you fear that you’re too alone, you fear that you’re walking the wrong streets. Day after day you wake up to the news of another feminicide. They’re killing us. You see it, you hear it, you fear it. What if I’m the next one? You’re always wondering. They’re killing us.
10 women are killed every day, only because they’re women. And it doesn’t matter where we are, what we’re wearing, who we are. It’s not our fault, because they keep killing us.
If we keep up at this rate? What’ll be of us?
Yesterday we marched.
(None of the pictures are mine)
“I march because I’m alive and I don’t know until when.”
“Today, all our voices aren’t together because, from death, one can’t scream.”
“We’re not hysteric, we’re historic.”
“Mom, if you don’t find me, look up for me in the stars.”
Yesterday we screamed. We flourished.
“Mom, don’t worry, today I’m not alone in the streets.”
Our monuments bled to represent us.
We screamed.
But not today, today march 9th 2020. We silenced ourselves.
Today, we disappeared. No social networks, not a single woman in the streets, not a single woman working, not a single woman studying, not a single woman at any store.
What would Mexico be without us? If you don’t want us in the streets, fine we’ll disappear.
Without us, you’ll collapse.
Mexico woke up with no women ticket-sellers in the subway stations, no women tellers at the bank.
No women’s column on the newspapers.
No women at their jobs.
No women at school.
No women on the streets.
Mexico woke up with no women.
We can’t accept what we can’t change, but we will change what we can’t accept.
We are angry, and we will rise. Because without us, you’re nothing.
No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true.
When do we learn moon jiu jitsu???
That's the Sailor Moon theme song, right?
Don’t do that. She was Sokka’s girlfriend.
W-what?
So, basically this?
But in all seriousness, I do get what he was saying.

Okay wow this is a nice way to introduce different types of sciences to people who otherwise don’t know about them! Like tinker bell as an experimental engineer?!? Amazing.

QUARTET NIGHT LIVE FLY TO THE FUTURE 2018 Report (Day 1&2)
Most details are from 1st day because we usually can’t see 1st day performances except for MC in DVD/BD anyway so i tried to focus on writing details of performance from 1st day more than 2nd (tho in term of perf there weren’t many differences) It contains most of the MCs and my thoughts about it!
Warning: Both reports and translations of the dialogue ARE not 100% accurate. It’s based on what i and my friend remembered and took notes of. The post is extremely long! And i spent tons of time typing this so there might be a lot of grammar and typing errors. I’d be happy if you would overlook all of my mistakes here!
Edit: Let me apologize for the extreme delay.. I actually had this finished a week after it happened, and i was probably super tired when i finished it. I’m not sure how that happened, but apparently i didn’t post it and this had been sitting on my drafts for six months because i went on a hiatus afterwards…. I realized it after opening tumblr a day ago. I was super sad because it was so long and i spent tons of time writing it.. if possible i don’t want to delete it so here it is!

YouTube Excursion - “On My Own” from Les Miserables
Oddly specific, but as a lover of musicals (a very casual fan), I wanted to share a few versions of “On My Own” from Les Miserables.
Lea Salonga
This is by far my absolute favourite rendition of the song. From the enunciation to the execution of every note that was hit with pretty much perfect pitch every single time, it was a masterpiece from start to finish, and it’s like I’m watching it for the first time over and over again. It blows me away every time. She’s a Filipino icon too.
Seriously though, when she sings, “And although, I know that he is blind” I was just like, “WOW”. She has control over the lower notes. And the same goes for when she sings, “I’ve only been pretending” because that’s such a different note, and she doesn’t waver at all! The orchestra perfectly backs her too. The emotion doesn’t take over the song, and I just feel like I wanted to share this one above all.
Samantha Barks (Movie)
She also sings it live for the Broadway version I think. Her version is really good too! Arguably, the live backing of an orchestra could’ve made this better. Being pre-recorded completely can also be in her favour though. I just feel like there isn’t the same emotional punch as the first. This doesn’t have the first part, but it has the main song.
Mone Kamishiraishi
I wasn’t expecting her to sing in English. The song starts at 4:39! Her version is nice too! I was expecting more punch and power though. Especially when she delivers the line “That I’m talking to myself and not to him”, I was expecting a real accent there, but it didn’t quite deliver. That may just be her way of doing it though. It doesn’t include the first part that the others do.
Aya Hirano
This version is probably the most different. From the presentation to the way that it was sung, gives it quite a unique and passionate approach that changes the emotion of all the previous versions. The translation of the lyrics do get in the way a little since I’ve listened to it several times in English, but it doesn’t bother me that much. It’s just that when singers sing, the formation of their mouth is important, and I find certain sounds resonate better. I find this version with the way it’s enunciated to be a little too over-the-top and dramatic.
Maaya Sakamoto
Let’s see how fast this gets taken down. It’s unlisted, but I have back up version. This includes the first part, unlike the Mone and movie version. I wish a regular orchestra backed her performance. She struggled a little with that top note, but I thought this was better out of the Japanese versions.
Ah! Hes the same guy who provides women selfies that they could use if they feel threatened!
