I love the way ceramic chains sound after a bisque firing 🥰 I'm pretty happy with this slip casting, but I do need to do a better job of cleaning up the links and I want to try out using a two part cutter to just cut a clay sheet into links, which would be faster than slip casting and wouldn't be hollow. I'm pretty pleased though. And almost to the point where I can make a shitton for some kink fashion items.
Been dithering over these chains for weeks now. Some are slipcast, some are extruded and formed. I hope they fire well, I want to wear them to kink events.
Yes, I live in squalor
Setting up my new cover stitch machine and this mans videos are delightful. And his voice sounds great in x2 speed so I can speed through his explanations and then slow down for watching him thread the machine.
sorry to post facebook videos on main but the sound of jello going through an industrial shredder is both mesmerizing and horrible
I love asking friends, without context, "what are you really into this week?" I'll go first. this week I'm really into mouthwash and sudoku. Last week I was into peaches.
we used to be a society on here!! reblog, don't like! I want to hear what you're into!!! I'm literally looking into the nyt game Pips!!!
I’ve been heads down in learning how manual wheelchairs work and how to adjust them! It’s been a lot of fun. Also the tomatoes are FINALLY tomatoeing and two of the cherry varieties are really tasty. Might just take out the third, it didn’t do well and is less tasty.
Been on Minecraft nonstop because everything else is just impossible right now. But I'm building some cool stuff and have eight donkeys and two mules.
Hyper fixated on a weird ass baby quilt right now. Trying to get it done in another day.
I haven't watched Episode 1 in a hot minute but I'm pretty sure this is about how it went down between Watto and Qui-Gon

I'm torn between "I need this in my life so badly" and "it would show ALL the dust." A flat black vase is an invitation to housekeeping I suppose....
First test kiln firing for the kiln i found on Craigslist! Just a bisque fire for some tiles, but went smoothly and no brown outs on the circuit, yay!
I had to replace the outlet with a high voltage one, but the circuit was already rated to 20amps so it had the proper gauge wire. Do need to remember to buy new outlet plates for the wall though...
Now I'm making some shelves for the kiln. Just trying to maximize the internal volume for if I decide to do glaze firings.
Well, it’s finally finished. It was a genuinely satisfying project. I present you Ankh Morpork in the guise of Google Maps.
brb, ugly happy screaming.
WOWWIE THIS IS GREAT
RICK ASTLEY OFFICIAL COVER OF PINK PONY CLUB BY CHAPPEL ROAN???
I was expecting this to be Never Gonna Give You Up?? But it's ACTUALLY a cover of Pink Pony Club??? Incredible. I love the Internet.
Working on a new project
Kittycat mug, Moroccan sand. Once again something exploded/touched my piece in the kiln and left a bunch of brownish marks on it 😞
Gonna use this one as a test case for glazing and slipcast a new one.
Testing out some painting options. Painting the whole cat body with cream and then wiping off with a damp sponge, so hopefully it ends up with a bit of beige two tone look after fired.
Used a paint on clear glaze for the kitty and handle, poured in Soy Sauce to coat the interior.
Going to spend some time today painting around the cat with one of my crystal glaze options.
If the "blush" doesn't fire brighter than the cream I'll need to switch to a different pink.
I slipcast two more cat mugs and they are ready for bisque now (left two mugs). On the right is the bisqued mug.
Added the background glaze to the bisqued mug which is Amaco Crystal Amarylis. It should make the cat pop really well. We'll see!
I ended up not putting a clear glaze on the cat and I kinda love it? Gonna try this again
