With a warm smile on her face, Jinri bowed and waved her hand towards the older. "Hello, it's nice to meet you -- the name's Choi Jinri" looking at her bag, Jinri then fished out a small red box and hands it towards the other. "It's nothing special, but this is for you -- let's say it's a 'we're now friends' gift, ayt?"
He looked surprised when he saw the box, it wasnât very big but he was more surprised at the fact someone had taken the effort to get him something. Taking the box from the other he smiled back. âIt depends whatâs in the box, if I donât like it Iâm not sure we can be friends.â Jongsuk joked as he flashed her a grin.

[ Tom Odell // I Think Itâs Going To Rain Today ]
As soon as he had stepped out the door he knew it wasnât going to be a good day and yet he still went outside. He didnât have much of a choice anyway, he was starving and he had nothing to eat, nothing at all. So while he was walking towards the store he wasnât surprised when he felt a drop of water fall on the tip of his nose, but he did end up cursing under his breath as it started to pour down.
He quickly ran to shelter under  a small cafĂ©, but seeing as his arms were covering half of his face from the rain he wasnât entirely sure where he was running to. Then he walked into something, or someone to be more accurate and he cursed some more. Today was not his day, he thought as he offered his hand, to the girl who he had knocked over, to help her up.
She gently taps the male on his shoulder, and clears her throat in an uncertain manner. "I'm sorry but... do you know where Seoul University is?" She sways from side to side to hide her uneasy state at being lost.
He felt something on his shoulder and turned around, having to look down a little at the person who was now stood in front of him. As she spoke Jongsuk realised she probably wasnât from Korea, but she was trying her best which counted for something in Jongsukâs mind. âIâm not entirely sure myselfâŠâ He frowned slightly, he really should have gotten to know the area better. âBut there must be a map somewhere around here.â He said more to himself than the girl, trying to remember if there was.

[ Ed Sheeran // Drunk ]
So Jongsuk might have been a little drunk, but he wasnât one to admit to stuff like that and he just ordered another shot. It had been a rough day on him and he just wanted to forget it. But when he turned his head and saw a familiar face, he instantly cheered up and without a single thought he ran up to the girl and pulled her into a tight hug.
Was this a dream? Jongsuk thought to himself, but it felt so real. He pulled out of the hug and then looked up to see that the female had a shocked expression on her face and he realised he had mistaken her for someone else. From a far they looked the same, but up close they were totally different. A sheepish smile was all that Jongsuk could manage to show the stranger, trying not to show just how upset he felt that it wasnât her.
It hadnât taken her that long to arrive at the park sheâd been seeking. The two children she looked after had expressed a desire to have a little fun there, and of course, Sojin had complied. It had taken them a ten minute walk, in which they entered the park, and the children had sped off, leaving poor Sojin alone to bide her time. She sat down on a nearby bench, one eye resting on the two, while she attempted to manoeuvre her left arm to retrieve the phone from her bagâwhich ultimately failed, with her bag ending up on the floor.
The day had been uneventful to say the least, Jongsuk was bored out of his mind and he was going crazy stuck in his apartment alone. Soon enough he was outside and walking over to the nearby park, sitting one of the two benches and took his phone out when he received a message only to realise it was spam. Putting the phone down beside him he closed his eyes and took a minute to relax.
Then he heard something drop and shifted his body towards where the sound came from, his phone falling off the bench in the process. He groaned as he quickly picked it up and putting it back in his pocket. Then focussing on the bag from which the content was lying all over the floor. He quickly stuffed it back inside, then picking the bag up and giving it to the owner with half a smile. "Be more careful next time."

[ Arctic Monkeys // When The Sun Goes Down ]
The weather wasnât at its best but Jongsuk just needed a breather, so he had taken the subway to the beach. He found himself walking on the sand, shoes in one hand enjoying the colour of the sunset that was now taking over the whole sky. He closed is eyes as he walked past the sea, listening to the sound of the waves hitting the shore, but then hearing a high pitched scream.
He quickly turned his attention to where the noise came from and saw a girl and a tall, slightly creepy man standing near each other. Quickly running over he noticed from the girlâs scared voice that they couldnât have been friends and Jongsuk walked up to the man âHey man, just walk away and leave the girl alone.â Thankful that he was much taller than him and that he could be quite intimidating when he wanted to be.

[ Scouting For Girls // Iâm Not Over You ]
As he looked at the grave stone in front of him, his mind went blank. The person he had loved more than himself was in front of him, and yet at the same time she was nowhere close to him. A single white flower was placed before the stone, which Jongsuk had brought a long with him. He wasnât over her and he knew he never quite would be, maybe the pain would slowly go away but for the time being it was there and still burning as much as it did the day it she left.
It had been a year, which felt like the longest year in his whole life. He let out a loud sigh, still crouching in front of the small grave. At least until he lost his balance and he fell against something hard. Looking up only to find a tall man looking down at him, and Jongsuk was at a loss for words.
Put a âȘ in my ask box and I'll put my playlist on shuffle and make you a starter based on the next song that plays
i miss you...
He blinked a few times at the strangers words. âYou missed me?â He repeated the sentence she had told him only a few seconds ago. âBut I donât even know youâŠâ Furrowing his eyebrows at her words. âDid you mistake me for someone else?â Which was, in Jongsukâs mind, the only explanation there could be for this vague situation.
aidxhae:
Aiden was out by himself today for lunch and he was already in trouble. He had taught himself to read, but he wasn't exactly the quickest reader and lots of words still confused him. In fact he didn't know a lot of words. He looked over the food menu and names of the restaurants again and groaned, speaking in English, "Shit. I can't read anything."
Jongsuk's shift at work had ended a little while ago, and he was still tired from working the night shift up until lunch time. He stretched out his arms widely as he walked through the streets of Seoul, not caring whether people stared at him. His mood was surprisingly good mood considering he hadn't slept for at least 24 hours and he wasn't going to let anyone ruin it.
As he was walking he heard the familiar sound of an american accent and he turned his head only to find a man staring at the window of a small café in confusion. "Hey man, need a helping hand?" He asked wanting to help the other out of his misery, or at least it seemed like he was having a hard time.
violetmaidminhyun:
Minhyun was out after her night shift taking a refreshing walk around the city. She decides to go visit the alleys of the city, as she heard there are many great cafes hidden. Thereâs little people around, which makes her a little uneasy but she keeps it cool as she continues to look around.
Soon she felt like she was walking around in circles. She looks around trying to retrace her steps then soon confusing herself. âThatâs not itâŠâ She said to herself before she hears a voice behind her and slowly turns around. She smiles shyly and nods. âAh, ne. I am lost. Iâm not sure how to get out of this alleywayâŠâ She says as she glances around her.
He gave a reassuring smile to the girl who was looking around her. Then Jongsuk did the same, only to realize that he himself was rather confused on where they were. He had only gone out for a short walk, but his mind must have wandered else where because he didn't seem to recognize where they were at either.
He awkwardly brought his arm up to his neck then looking back at the other, feeling rather dumb. "I'm... not entirely sure where we are either." He tried to remember whereabouts he was last at one of the main streets and he turned to look at one of the streets. "I think the way out is that way." His voice holding a little uncertainty.
"Temporary is good, and at least youâre making something to tide you over. Reminds me I need to start job hunting before I get too comfortable." Twenty years in the US. It must have been a change to come to Korea after being away for so long. "Ah either is fine really, whichever you remember so long as itâs not forgotten." She laughed nodding her head at his words. "Jongsuk," his named was repeated three times, her habit to make sure she didnât forget peopleâs names. "That would actually be a lot of fun. The hardest thing here besides trying not to get lost every few steps is having no friends yet. I thought at first I was going to have to start posting flyers on every pole and door begging people to befriend me!"
"Maybe you could come work with me, make the day a little less boring for me." Jongsuk said jokingly, though working the night shifts did tend to bore him most days. "Jen it is," A smile on his face as he said her name "I think it'll be hard to forget getting almost knocked over to the hard ground by someone." Making sure to exaggerate the events of earlier, a small grin on his face as he did so.
He nodded in agreement at the others words. "I haven't even made a single friend since I got here, just a few acquaintances here and there. Being a loner in an unknown country tends to suck a little, but that's not very surprising. So just name a place and we'll somehow go there one day, even if it means getting lost while trying to get there all right?" Questioning his own sanity at convincing a complete stranger to get lost in Seoul with him.
