what i really hate is that things my dad & stepmom do that remind me of my past with emotional abuse are considered perfectly fine and normal even though i can see how awful it makes my siblings feel about themselves 24/7. if your child can stop crying on cue because they know when you tell them to stop you mean it there’s an issue because that is not normal and it should not be normal. okay? okay.

Stop sexualizing children

It should go without saying, but y'all can’t behave.

Since the umbrella academy came out, I’ve seen a lot of Aidan Gallagher fan pages popping up, which is all well and good - he’s a talented actor and seems like a great kid who deserves to be recognized for his work - but I’m seeing a lot of borderline disturbing content as well.

He is 15. A young teenager.

His character is 58 years old with 30 year old siblings. They talk about sex and joke about his sex drive.

That’s television.

The child actor portraying the character shouldn’t be sexualized.

The same thing happened with the Stranger Things kids and IT kids. These are talented young actors and actresses who are already in an incredibly dangerous situation simply by being in Hollywood. Predators are everywhere, but predators with power over your career… it’s sickening.

People have been sexualizing Millie Bobby Brown, and it’s unacceptable. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen the same energy used to defend Finn Wolfhard, and now Aiden Gallagher. Just because these young guys are guys doesn’t make disrespecting and sexualizing them any less serious.

Don’t feed into it.

Protect these kids the way all kids deserve to be protected.
