earlier this year 2 boys got expelled from my school for going on a teachers email and sending another teacher an email that says “you’re a disgusting little man” and i laugh about it all the time because imagine opening an email from your coworker and thinking it’s important and then it says that

It's always "stop harming yourself or we'll have to lock you up!!!" and never "what do you need to change to want to harm yourself less and how can we help you make some of these changes?" and that's why we're not getting anywhere

I work in suicide prevention (in Australia) and the latter thing is actually exactly what we do. We use the CAMS model, which is actually from the US, which is all about indentifying and addressing the drivers of suicidality. Their website is for clinicians, but it could be a good starting point if you're looking for actual help.
