And kid, you’ve got to love yourself. You’ve got wake up at four in the morning, brew black coffee, and stare at the birds drowning in the darkness of the dawn. You’ve got to sit next to the man at the train station who’s reading your favorite book and start a conversation. You’ve got to come home after a bad day and burn your skin from a shower. Then you’ve got to wash all your sheets until they smell of lemon detergent you bought for four dollars at the local grocery store. You’ve got to stop taking everything so goddam personally. You are not the moon kissing the black sky. You’ve got to compliment someones crooked brows at an art fair and tell them that their eyes remind you of green swimming pools in mid July. You’ve got to stop letting yourself get upset about things that won’t matter in two years. Sleep in on Saturday mornings and wake yourself up early on Sunday. You’ve got to stop worrying about what you’re going to tell her when she finds out. You’ve got to stop over thinking why he stopped caring about you over six months ago. You’ve got to stop asking everyone for their opinions. Fuck it. Love yourself, kiddo. You’ve got to love yourself.

it’s official. no one can ever complain about millenials ever again. we may be killing the cereal industry but at least we’re not killing the country uwu
next time someone tells you Muslim countries oppress women, let them know Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Turkey, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, and Senegal have all had female Presidents or Prime Ministers and 1/3rd of Egypt’s parliament is female but the US has yet to even have a female vice president and can’t say “vagina” when discussing female reproductive rights
I just cracked my screen I reblogged this so hard.
to my lgbt, hispanic, female, black, jewish, and muslim followers
i love you. i love you all so much.
CNN is all like “oh no! if we had bernie sanders instead of hillary the democratic party would have won!!!”
should have thought of that back when you refused to do any media coverage on bernie sanders even though his rallies were PACKED and he was doing better than both of these dry toast bags on popularity polls.
if you wanna blame anybody except 1) trump voters and 2) white nationalism, go the fuck home and unfollow me
i am not lying when i say i think about this everyday
This is 100% the most underrated Tim and Eric sketch.
Even if you hate the candidate that won, you still have to respect your president.

Hi everyone! This is an illustrated guide I made as part of my co-admining work at The Middle Eastern Feminist on Facebook! It will be published there shortly. The technique that is displayed here is a genuine one used in psychology - I forgot the name and couldn’t find it again so if you know about it, feel free to tell me! Some could say: “Yes but you can use that technique for instances of harassment other than Islamophobic attacks!”, and my reply is: Sure! Please do so, it also works for other “types” of harassment of a lone person in a public space!! However I’m focusing on protecting Muslims here, as they have been very specific targets lately, and as a French Middle Eastern woman, I wanted to try and do something to raise awareness on how to help when such things happen before our eyes - that way one cannot say they “didn’t know what to do”! I’d like to insist on two things: 1) Do not, in any way, interact with the attacker. You must absolutely ignore them and focus entirely on the person being attacked! 2) Please make sure to always respect the wishes of the person you’re helping: whether they want you to leave quickly afterwards, or not! If you’re in a hurry escort them to a place where someone else can take over - call one of their friends, or one of yours, of if they want to, the police. It all depends on how they feel! For my fellow French-speakers: I will translate it in French and post it on my page as soon as I can :) Please don’t hesitate to share this guide as it could push a lot of people to overcome bystander syndrome!! Lots of love and stay safe!
Every single time I have ever been in a situation where someone (or myself) was being harassed and I didn’t act fast enough to do something about it, I left with a permanent blemish on my conscience that spurned me into action when similar situations came up in the future. This is great advice for a way to interject into a situation and quantifiably improve someone’s day. Take it from someone who’s made it through about a third of an average human lifespan, you will regret any situation you had the opportunity to do something and didn’t.
