Just thinking about how Doc Ock changes his glasses throughout Spider-Man 2. I imagine he just stole them but I thought it was funnier if he's casually shopping despite the freakish appendages. He really chose to be a fashion icon before fighting Spider-Man

Pen Review | Kaweco Student

3.27.2023 I’ve eyeballed Kaweco pens for a bit, particularly the Kaweco Sport iridescent, but today, I present to you the Kaweco Student. Big thanks to Pen Chalet for allowing me to review this pen!  What we have here is the ‘30s Blues Double-broad nib. I believe all my pens are fine nibs, so I was pretty happy to try out a thicker one. Fine nibs just don’t show off the variety of fountain pen ink as well as a broad one. However, for this drawing, I opted to use the ink already provided. To start off, it comes in a tin case with raised surfaces. I love it when a company treats their packaging with as much love as the pen itself. Presentation is everything. It’s accompanied with a little sticker, a mini pamphlet noting the company’s changes and achievements since 1883, and of course, the pen itself.

The pen features metal components, though simple in design, does lend to its classy look. The gold trim features the company name. Perhaps my favorite feature is the gold insignia on the top of the cap. It’s a simple addition but certainly adds to the appeal of it. The nib is also nice, etched with the same insignia as the one on the cap, and features a little ornamental design. Despite the metal components, the pen is still light. Heavier than, say, a Kakuno Pilot pen, but still very comfortable to use.

When I first used it, I was pleased to find that the nib is flexible in terms of how I hold it. I like fountain pens that allow me to use both sides in the event I want a smaller line. The nib glides smoothly across the paper -- so much so that I find myself having to be careful that I have a steady hand. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as I prefer a smoother writing and drawing experience, but something I did observe. All and all, I enjoy the pen! The classy aesthetic makes me feel that one more prestigious than myself should be using it, but that’s what makes it fun. Kaweco shows off their knowledge that there’s power in simplicity. It’s a smooth writing experience, and I look forward to trying out my inks with this nib. The significance of having a creative space..or just any desk space, really. I knew I spent a lot of time at this desk, but when I really take into account the hours spent here, it's kinda crazy. From homework in highschool, to 90% of my college experience being virtual and therefore encompassed in this little spot, to working remotely, and all the video games and drawing in between, the intimacy of a creative space really comes to light. There's remnants of paint and ink that I couldn't rub off, but I like it. It feels homier, more welcoming. I don't think any desk space could replace my own. It's like sleeping in hotel bed, it's usually not as good as our own. It's molded to our needs and wants. I love seeing other people's desks too. I used to put stuff in a Pinterest board of what I admired in others' decor. Im curious to know, what's your favorite feature about your creative space? (I say space because not all have room for an office or one designated area to work, but that area still counts.)

I think it's pretty safe to say winter is over, from the pollen coating our cars and throats, to the weather channel advising us of the 85 degrees day next week. I think I wore my boots once this winter. Maybe next winter we'll be hit with a cold front, or maybe we'll gradually transition into a Mad Max era. I imagine people  adorning their tractors and lawnmowers with metal armor and 1950s pinup stickers, lol.
