Loki didn’t think one of his pranks would go too far, but there he was, banished to Earth and for what? A childish prank of cutting Sif’s hair off?
“Seriously, it’s not like it wouldn’t grow back!” he shouted towards the sky, knowing full well Odin could hear him, even if he chose to ignore him. Fuming, Loki started walking towards the nearest town, which luckily wasn’t too far. Still, he had time to think about what he should do so he would be allowed back to Asgard. A selfless act, was it? Well, he’ll better work on that, though it wasn’t in his nature, but what could one do? Luck seemed to be in his favor though, for when he arrived in the town and entered a café with the intention of getting something to drink, he spotted a familiar face. A grin spread across his lips as he recognized Steve. Immediately, he walked over to him.
“Look who’s here! Captain America, what a surprise!” Loki didn’t have to pretend to be surprised, it was genuine, though he immediately had many thoughts on his minds, mainly of how he could use this meeting to his advantage. “How are you doing? Taking a little vacation away from the city?”
It was very difficult to step away from things and get some time to yourself when you have a face that everyone recognizes. So in coming to this very remote town, where the residents seemed largely removed from the bigger happenings in the world, Steve thought he could at last get a little peace and quiet.Â
That idea was rather short lived however.
Of all the people that he thought might possibly find him here, Thor’s wayward brother was the very last person on his list. The shock of Loki’s casual greeting actually made the man spill his drink on himself, sputtering slightly as he tried to collect himself.Â
The cafe was small, and only half full, but if they were to fight there was still a high probability of civilians getting injured. Steve was ready to go on the offensive, but…Loki didn’t seem to be attacking. He didn’t even seem confrontational, something the Avenger found even more odd.Â
“Um…excuse me?” he asked, squinting, clearly confused. “I feel like if one of us is out of place here, it’s probably the demi god from another dimension.” he added.
"Mind if I sit down? I've had a long walk to get here." Loki didn't wait for an answer, he seated himself across from Steve and sighed, rubbing his face before addressing the how and why of ending up in the same town as Steve.
"I may have pissed Odin off." Â he started, lowering his voice so only Steve could hear him. "It was just a harmless prank, but he decided the beating I got for it wasn't enough to make me learn, so he sent me to Earth. For how long, I've no idea, but for now I'm banished from Asgard, until I reedem myself with a selfless act, was it I think? Yeah, it's what he said."
