this gõödwïll im at has cameras that can see into the dressing room bc the door is too low. i noticed them after i concealed and i heard i weird announcement. idk if someone was monitoring the cams but i ditched my shit.
most are pretty far away but still :/
yooo that’s creepy as shit—I hope they said that fitting rooms are monitored bc if they don’t, it’s a crime
I did some googling and wrt a similar incident found a guy on reddit who installed security cameras as a job say “That’s a dome camera, and judging by it’s appearance (hard to be sure) it does not rotate automatically. One would have to climb up there, remove the dome from above, turn the camera manually, refocus it etc, just to get the view of your head (since your eyes are on your head, and you can see the camera, that’s probably all it can see of you). It is almost certainly pointing in a more useful direction, like, at the entrance of the changing area, to monitor who comes and goes with what garments to prevent theft.”
The info is from 2013 so it may not be the case now so better safe than sorry. Always inspect dressing rooms and always use decoys to hide what you’re going to lift.
wait? dome cameras can’t move around inside the dome??? am I seriously just this fucking stupid rip
I thought dome cameras could see every direction so I guess I’m even stupider lmaooo
i thought that too guess we all stupid
@stellar-lifting @geminilifter @liftblurred You’re not stupid! The vast majority of dome cameras can rotate!! Some, like this particular one (ostensibly) cannot, but most of them do! please don’t assume they can’t😰
my favorite thing is that we all just without question accepted that we’re stupid 😂😂
i thought dome cameras were so you couldn’t tell what angle the camera was pointing at. wtf they actually rotate ?????
yep! that’s why they’re so popular - their design is subtle and more elegant than bullet cameras, and the black lense obscures where the camera is pointing and whether it’s rotating to follow someone! while there are some dome cameras that do not rotate, they’re a very small minority. since there’s no way to tell them apart, it’s best to assume that all domes have this feature😊
