and just like that the words were stolen from his lips.

elizabeth sat gaping at yoosung, the half-arsed excuses that had been spilling from his lips like a waterfall ceased completely, and behind he was left breathless. yoosung’s eyes were staring at him so intensely, his whole demeanour was so far from the relaxed stance elizabeth had grown used to seeing in him, it threw him a little off kilter.

“i’m sorry,” he whispered, his hand reaching up to cup his bruised cheek, the other tugging the sleeves of his shirt down to hide the purple markings left behind by strong fingers. who was he kidding? yoosung was gullible, but he wasn’t an idiot.

if anything he was too observant, too caring, too helpful. but he deserved the truth. elizabeth owed him that at least. he owed it to him after walking into his home and lying to his face about what made him ring that stupid door bell at two in the fucking morning.

“m-master jumin had… a little too much to drink,” he said quietly, closing his eyes tightly to keep his tears from falling. “i know he is frustrated with me not being a cat anymore. it’s my fault he acts the way he does. i… didn’t know where else to go.”

If there is something in the world Yoosung hated more than the server maintenance, when he wanted to play LOLOL, it was lying. Not the type of lying Seven used on him to play a joke on the gamer but the type of lying where someone tried to keep the truth away from him. So it was only a matter of time before he snapped and told Elizabeth not to lie to him because it was too obvious that something was wrong. 

Yoosung glared at the boy who once was a cat; which was still confusing to him, he had to admit. Nonetheless his story of how the bruise on his cheek happened was absolutely bullshit and nothing the student would ever believe. Even if he was tired like hell because it was two in the morning and he was sleeping for around half an hour. 

He could see the guilt in the light blue eyes of the boy but as quiet words made their way over his lips Yoosung froze on the spot and his own eyes widened in disbelieve and horror. Never would he guess that Jumin would be able to hurt his precious cat not even in his new form of a human being. 

“It’s not your fault, don’t even think about it! It is Jumins alone for not accepting you like you are! Aaah, I cannot believe he could be such a jerk to you!” A frustrated sigh escaped his lips as Yoosung ran a hand through his hair. “Come on, you can stay here if you want to. I-It’s not as tidy and big as Jumins pent house but I hope you don’t mind. Make yourself at home. Want me to look at the bruise? It looks pretty bad…”
