Yes.

I grew up in an environment where the connection between what people say and what they mean is abstract at best, and I never want to be in a situation again where I'd have to ~just know~ what someone wants or thinks when they're saying something completely different, or where someone assumes that I am lying when I say what I want or think and arbitrarily decides that I must mean whatever they think I mean instead. It makes me want to discover the sport of reverse greek wrestling.

So now that Episode 9 is fully out, can I take a moment to talk about this scene?

LOOK AT HIS FACE

This is the first time he’s being told, and probably the first time he’s even entertaining the notion, that he’s capable of being loved for who he is and not just what he does. That he has inherent worth simply because he exists. That just… for how heavy this whole episode was, that hit me the hardest, I think.

after a couple hours chopping dried sea urchins into tiny pieces with a razor blade you start referring to the razor blade as yourself in your thoughts. a little while afterwards you'll inevitably think something along the lines of "i'm getting a bit dull, i'm going to have to throw myself out & get myself a new self" at which point your internal monologue has pretty much returned to baseline
