Mostly here I’ll post about Lunar Chronicles since it’s the reason I made this blog. I might post some Renegades content as well since I also loved that series. Besides that I’m into creepypasta, transformers, Unwanteds book series, Mia ans Me, and Minecraft args, lame I know.

Happy pride everyone and today is the day I decide to share how I realized I was asexual. Funnily enough I realized it when I was playing Date Everything last year, ironically enough. I had my suspicions before but the game confirmed it.

There were three things that keyed off that idea and first was, instead of picturing myself, I created an entire oc to insert instead of using my own self. I used a picrew, picked a different name, and tried to pice choices based off that character’s lens because I hated the usage of second pov narration. I actually did this with multiple visual novels and dating games I’ve played in the past where I create a character to imagine in it instead of myself. I didn’t realize till I played the game that people were actually imaging themselves in the game. But then again there were people I know that aren’t asexual that also do that so I shrugged it off

The second instance is when I heard the criticism that people wish that they could still have unique in different interactions with the characters after you get a status with them specifically the love status for me. I didn’t actually care about that. I was glad I couldn’t have more interactions in them after getting love because for me, I bought the game intending to ‘win it’ a.k.a. getting all the characters to love me. like I was playing the game not because I viewed it as a dating but I viewed it as me trying to win a trophy. The achievement was my goal. I still did enjoy the characters, but my main priority was not fighting. My main priority was winning the game. But regardless I know that some people did that as well so that’s not what tipped me over.

Finally what did tip me over was my ranking of the characters. So after I finish the game, I made a ranking of all the characters and I was thinking why those characters I had for the top five of my choice were very rare compared to other peoples like the most popular characters. And then it hit me. I picked my favorite characters by how far I can remove the romantic in sexual subtext behind their route. Yes there are friends and enemy options but in date everything the main objective is they’re presented as romantic love interest so you could pick and I picked my favorite character based off how far away I can get away from that idea. My top two favorite characters are Sinclair and Maggie. I like Sinclair because he doesn’t have a human head. I can’t attach any attraction to that and I like Maggie because Maggie‘s route was basically solving mysteries, like yeah, there are romantic moments but it was mostly mystery. It was the solving crimes and I found that fun. I like Fraya’s route because it was basically medical study and remembering answers to the question like a quiz. I liked Mateo because for some of my charters, I can just use them finding the animals. I didn’t even have to interact with him. I like Damien because he doesn’t have a face they just are and they were easy to achieve the romantic ending I didn’t have to do much. I was disappointed with had a human face because I thought the ram head it was so much cooler. I like Skyler‘s role because it was just world building. I got to know about logistics of how the glasses worked. I barely had to flirt with her.

Don’t get me wrong there are other contributing factors but it made me realize I couldn’t get into routes like Volt and Eddie because of how much romantic coding was in their route. The same can be said for Hector’s route. I just couldn’t understand it whah was so appealing about them when they’re were characters with more fun routes. 

After that I began my research and found the orientation that described me the best. I thought this would be funny to share because the idea of a n adult dating game being the reason I found out I’m asexual is funny

I feel like it’s important for people to realize that asexuality and aromantic are umbrella terms. I kinda of wish I saw more variety of characters under those spectrums like if I see a character that’s asexual, what type of asexual are they? Are they sex repulse are they sex favorable are they ace flux? what type of asexual are they that goes the same for aromantic characters,

because while, yes, I agree that labels can be very restricting for some people, it can also be freeing for some people to know what they are, to know what they are feeling is natural. for example, for me, I’m aegosexual. That means I can consume sexual content and enjoy it, but not want it for myself or like the idea of me being in the situation. The idea of me actually engaging in those activities, makes me feel disgusted. I have no interest in it yet I still like reading smut and for the longest time I wondered if I was an actual asexual or I was just pretending or if I was just wrong because I only knew the umbrella term brought a space for asexuality, which is just having no sexual attraction.

So I think it’s important that there different types of asexuals and aromantics depicted in media because like I said they’re spectrums. They’re very fluid. They’re not just one thing and if we keep trying to depict them as one thing, I think it could be very problematic in the future because it can alienate different types of asexuals and aromantics and just overall diminished them when the others are just as valid as any type of asexual or aromantic in the queer community

- call kai a bad love interest for choosing his responsibilities as emperor and saving the commonwealth over cinder. how selfish of him am i right

- believe that cresswell’s age difference is unproblematic. in what world is 16 and 20 bad!

- romanticize levana and evret’s relationship. true love right there

- hate on jacin because of how he acted towards cinder in the third book while ignoring his entire character arc. worst character ever

- sympathize with channary’s character because she did the bare minimum as a mother
