I think some people who read Bttwns dont know this but Nigel and Samantha are different types of serial killer

Samantha is a compulsion killer- she has no strong emotions towards her victims. She enjoys the process of killing- not necessarily the suffering that it causes.

Nigel, I would call a mission killer- he has very intense emotions towards his victims and kills them for the purpose of causing misery and unrest.

Samantha has very clear MO's and routines- Nigel improvises. Nigel takes momentos of his victims and photos of the act- Samantha cant even remember the complete face of her victims.

To me, this explains part of the reason Nigel and Samantha were so upset at each other. Nigel wanted a fellow murderer who would help him complete his mission of punishing those who wrong him. Samantha wanted a complete separation from her citizen and criminal life so that she could continue her exact routines.
