This may be one of those iykyk things, but I have to share. Also worth noting, this is a belated NYE post. 2022 was a wild year. If you've been following along, you know I've been struggling with chronic pain since high school. It got increasingly worse over the years, topping off in 2015 when I was at a 10 on the pain scale 24/7. Then the pain spread from just my chest to my ribs. My doctors all told me I was "perfectly fine." I hadn't felt fine in well over a decade. Spain changed everything. A form of acupuncture that I kept semi/permanently in my ears. It was like magic. It was the first time in 12 years I wasn't in any pain. Moving to Florida was terrifying. I got here and was sent off base for general medical needs. This made the request to continue care impossible. I was forced to start revisiting specialists for a 6th round when 2 drs in as many days suggested @radiantfamilychiro to me. I made an appointment in the fall of 2021. It wouldn't be covered by insurance but we didn't even blink. I needed this to survive. In March, only a few months into treatment, @kcwilson12 & @gryffindorable77 took me to Universal Orlando for the first time. I tried a roller coaster, afraid that I'd spend the rest of the day in pain. I didnt. We all cried. I felt normal. We've gone back once or twice every month since. This week we decided to spend NYE at the parks. I decided I was finally ready to try a "big girl" roller coaster. We picked Hulk. I grabbed Kat half way through and told her I was ok. Like not just not hurting, which is a pretty freaking low bar, but I was actually having fun. I was laughing. I'd post the picture but I look absolutely absurd. We were both crying by the end of it. We were both so happy. It seems small, being able to ride a roller coaster. But it's normalcy I've never had. Never believe anyone who tells you you don't deserve what you want.
