Busy ass week, so have so mid class sketches of some OCs from this little fantasy I've been writing with a friend.

This here is Mule from a story I've been writing with a friend, he fights people with garden supplies and kinda has a few screws loose.

I find these high octane super fun to draw, it's like they pop right out of the page. Or, in this case, the art file collecting dust in my directories.

Contrary to no belief, I haven't actually stopped drawing. I saw a post a while back about someone being upset that their favorite artist spent way too long not posting because they only wanted to post fully finished and rendered artwork.

And that got me thinking, why not just post the metric ton of sketches I have accumulated? Genius, I know.

Anyway, the sketch above is some concept art for a children's book I've been working on with someone else. Fun work, challenging work.

Guess what? I’m participating in this year’s artfight, my first time! Had to polish up a proper character sheet for my webcomic’s main character, her name’s Symag.

I should’ve already had one tbh, but I’m so used to drawing her that I never felt the need to. Either way, I’m looking forward to drawing other peoples characters in my style.

Very different painting methods used, dunno if I’ll be trying the one I used for Yang any time soon, WAY too much work.

This one in particular is actually a comission for a uni friend, been a long time coming. Apparently it’s a very different method to paint whenever you’re making something for printing, I tried to be careful with the colors.

Also, ONE PIECE IS SO GOOD. Still have a lot to watch but I see that as a boon at this point.

This one’s more of a color test over a relatively rough sketch. It’s a rework of Ruby Rose I made for this alternate universe rework of Rwby, I have some older posts on the same concept. Might turn it into a proper novel/fanfic, who knows? Still have my own comic to work on.

Yo yo, been a little while. Last post was back in August lol.

I am in fact not deceased, just studying a whole bunch. Apparently getting a bachelors degree in mathematics is time consuming and exhausting, go figure.

Either way, quick sketch from two days ago, slightly poor quality due to it being a screenshot. Still have to correct the stuff from chapter one, definitely gonna have to change my plan for the lineart phase given my current performance.

Oh yeah, and one of my uni friends asked for a comission. I don’t have a lot of experience with those but it’s for his girlfriend, so I gotta hook him up. Will post it here as well whenever it’s done.

Some more stuff from my Rwby rework, idk if you’d consider this angst art or not but this was a scene I had in mind.

Different painting method, less reliant on multiply layers and a lot more freedom of choice. I think I’m gonna explore some types of backlighting next, give the shadows some more dimension and visual interest.

I know original art doesn’t sell out here unless you’re name is known throughout all of the continents, but I really give a damn and this is what I have. One man does not live solely through fanart.

Working on the comic, got most of the lineart done for chapter one and now only the corrections for the first few pages remain, that and I’m sketching out the newest chapters.

Vice Captain Hoshina!! Tried out some different painting methods for this one, I also learned quite a bit about color palettes since I mostly went off of his character sheet.

It’s mostly blacks, greys and whites but there’s plenty of nuance regarding which hue they picked out, makes the whole design more readable.
