It actually makes me sick how good some of the Green Lanterns’ rogue gallery is. Here’s a fascist dictator who criticizes the way the Guardians run things but acts exactly like them down to the unilateral leadership; he represents the worst of cops, but sometimes his iffy methods at least seem to be genuinely more effective than the Green Lanterns’, which force them to have moral conundrums about the way they do things. And here, before the Guardians created the Corps to police the universe, they first created a bunch of androids who believe that emotions are the root of evil, and despite them committing mass genocide, the Guardians still believed that emotions get in the way of everything (the raging hypocrites). Here is the embodiment of Death itself, and the only way to defeat him is to have the entire emotional spectrum working together, and despite all of their flaws and rivalries and sordid history, emotions come together to make Life.
