Monday 18th October

Lessons today:

• biology from 12:45 until 14:00

As I only have one lesson on a Monday, I decided to go into college early today to work on the homework I didn't finish at the weekend. I started with biology work on lipids, then finished my chemistry sheets before going to get lunch. We looked at proteins and their structures in my class, which was really interesting although admittedly quite confusing. I decided to spend some more time in the library studying instead of going straight home, so I took a look at some of the more confusing aspects that we covered in biology. I left college at around 15:50 to walk into town with my friends before getting the bus home.

Friday 15th October

Lessons today:

• biology from 9:15 until 12:00

• maths from 12:45 until 14:00

• chemistry from 14:15 until 15:30

Fridays always seem to drag for me, but today wasn't too bad. In biology we started with tests resits, which I finished early so I went to the library to recap diffusion. Then in the second half of that lesson we did a practical investigating the breakdown of cell membranes in beetroot at varying temperatures. During lunch, I worked on some flashcard revision. Then in my maths class we just worked on the computers to finish the topic on co-ordinate geometry. During my last class of the day we just looked at some more problems involving moles and Avogadro's constant.

Thursday 14th October

Lessons today:

• maths from 9:15 until 12:00

• chemistry from 12:45 until 13:30

• maths from 15:30 until 16:30

I actually had a really good day at college today! I started my day by grabbing a Costa from the cafe up the road and then went straight into my first lesson of the day. We were working on some more basic quadratics practice for the first half, then had a 15 minute break before going back to the classroom and did some problems involving simultaneous quadratic equations. In my chemistry lesson we looked at molar volume pretty briefly before moving onto the first half of a practical that we're finishing next week involving the concentration of sodium hydrocarbonate. I spent my free period finishing up some biology notes before heading to my second maths class of the day where we just recapped some equations of circles involving more quadratics.

Wednesday 13th October

Lessons today:

• personal development from 12:45 until 13:30

• biology from 14:15 until 15:30

I got into college at 11am today so I could get in some revision before my classes. I grabbed lunch and ate it in a spare classroom while my friends and I went over some content for chemistry. In Pers Dev we were looking at healthy eating and got set the task to make a food diary of our week to show in next week's lesson. During my break I just relaxed with my friends and got to know some new people which was a nice change from studying. In biology we were looking at cell membranes for the first twenty minutes, then we looked over our last tests because most of the class didn't do very well. At 15:30 I went to the school library to study until my bus home at 16:25.

Tuesday 12th October

Lessons today:

• chemistry from 9:15 until 12:00

• maths from 14:15 until 15:30

Today I got into college at 8:45 and sat in one of the computer rooms just going over the PowerPoint presentations for today's lessons. In my chemistry class we worked on some more advanced molar volume questions. Then during my free period I went over cell ultrastructure in the library. In maths we continued our work on equations of lines, eventually moving over to the big whiteboards to work in smaller groups on advanced questions; which I always really enjoy.

Monday 11th October

Lessons today:

• biology from 12:45 until 14:00

As I only had one lesson today, I didn't get into college until around 11:30. I spent just under an hour making some flashcards for Chemistry and then I went over a Biology PowerPoint. In my lesson we were looking at the structure and function of different lipids which was actually really interesting! After that I went into town with a friend before going to band practice.

•chemistry revision (complete a few past paper questions on weak topics)

• tidy for 20 mins

• change bed sheets and make it cosy! (candles)

• have a warm bath! (wash hair in morning)

• have a late pudding and drinj! (warm caramel rice pudding and hot chocolate)

Friday 8th October

Lessons today:

• biology from 9:15 until 12:45

• maths from 12:45 until 14:00

• chemistry from 14:15 until 15:30

My biology test was today, so I did some basic recap on the bus using Seneca just to make sure I was fully confident beforehand. Then I went to class and took the exam which I think went well! We then made some posters on some more specific cells ultrastructures. My teacher let us go early after that so I went to the supermarket round the corner to get some lunch with my friends. Then in maths we were working on finding the equations of circles which was really fun as we got to use the whiteboards around the room to focus on a pretty difficult question. In chemistry I had another test which I also think went well apart from a few things I got confused on.

Thursday 7th October

Lessons today:

• maths from 9:15 until 12:45

• chemistry from 12:45 until 14:00

• maths from 15:30 until 16:30

My teacher didn't actually turn up to my 9:15 class so I took the opportunity to study quadratics before we move onto another topic. Then I met my friends to grab some lunch and we went over flashcards together for each of our subjects to focus on active recall. Very helpfully, my chemistry teacher didn't turn up either, so I headed to the library with some friends and we worked on our understanding of moles in more advanced chemical equations. My final lesson of the day was maths and my teacher did in fact show up this time! We did some revision of the topics we taught ourselves this morning and then did some exam questions before heading home. I plan to bring my flashcards with me to rehersals tonight to do some quiet revision in my breaks for my biology test tomorrow.

- today was an online day, so i didn’t have any real life classes

• complete biology risk assessment for enzyme practical & revise for biology test on carbs and lipids tomorrow

• make a pasta bake for dinner

Tuesday 5th October

Today when I got home from college I studied for my biology quiz on everything we've covered so far. I'm quite confident that I will do well as I feel like I have a good understanding of the content. In college this week we have been working on life skills rather than regular lessons, which is why I haven't been posting over the past week or so!

Thursday 23rd September

Lessons today:

• maths from 9:15 until 12:45

I got into college at around 8:45 this morning so I could go the the helpzone to sort out some timetable clashes that have come up, then I grabbed a coffee and headed to my first maths class where we recapped some basic quadratic functions before moving on to some more advanced questions. In my chemistry class we were just working on some pretty simple equations to get re-aquainted with valency in terms of formulae. During my free period I sat in the library and read through some pages in my textbook on organelles before finishing up on my homework. Then in my last maths session of the day we did some more work on quadratics, this time we looked more into proof questions which was really interesting; also my teacher brought us all biscuits which was really nice!

Wednesday 22nd September

Lessons today:

• Biology from 14:15 until 3:30

I had a fairly short day in college today and I arrived at around 12 to grab some lunch and study in the library for a while. I made a start on my homework on hydrogen bonds. I wrote around 300 words for my essay on aquatic survival and then headed to my class. We covered microscope calibration and then we were let out early which was nice. My bus wasn't until 16:25 so I headed to one of the cafés in my college with a friend and worked more on my assignments.
