Eddie starts calling Theo "Teddy" but Theo gets confused cuz he obviously doesn't know it's an established nickname and he's like if anyone is gonna be Teddy then it should be Eddie cuz it rhymes. So he starts calling Eddie "Teddy" as well and so it all starts to get very confusing (and very adorable)

You ever notice the amount of Buddie scenes where you just ask yourself why are you guys hanging out right now.

For example that scene where Eddie is packing for El Paso and Buck is there playing with a toy dinosaur.

I know it's for exposition but like they rarely have a goal when they hang out. It's pretty much just proximity hang outs. Like there is no shared hobby, concert, bar, nor activity that doesn't include exposition.

Like Eddie and Tommy hung out to watch fights and play basketball. Maddie and dispatch did karaoke nights. When they were still friends Maddie and Chim hung out they had hang outs like karaoke too. Athena and Hen are hanging out at a bar. The girls have wine night. Buck hanging out at a bar with Ravi.

That's how friend hang outs work they make plans picking a setting and an activity.

When it is just Buck and Eddie they only seem to hang out when they are going to talk about something and deal with how their life is going. Maybe with a beer or two. Buck just goes to Eddie's house all the time to just plop on the couch. Other than that it's a hang out with Chris like the dinners, child activities, and baking. These two like being next to each other for no reason. They always will have each other's back when the other one needs it.

Buck fucking Eddie and he is determined to make Eddie's first time perfect, which includes making him come first, so he puts his all into it. And of course his efforts are very much rewarded, and then Buck pulls out to jerk off over him and admire Eddie all spread out and spent because of him. Meaning, by the time Buck has collapsed onto the bed in pleasurable exhaustion, Eddie has had a moment to breathe so he's the one who gets up to retrieve a washcloth to clean them up. And so it is perfect because they both got to take care of each other.

i've been trying to write a longer post about this forever, but it is so special to me that eddie wants chris and buck to feel whatever they feel. 'you don't have to be anything for anybody.' 'if you are pissed off, be pissed off.' 'i don't want you to ever stop trying.' he let chris have the space he needed when he was upset with eddie. meanwhile, when eddie was a child, he was highly scrutinized for everything. he'd try to help, but his parents focused on his failures. even as an adult, his parents were constantly prepared for him to fail. 'don't bring him down with you'. helena and ramon had no faith in eddie as a parent. it was so important eddie broke that cycle. he will love and support chris and buck through anything and everything, he just wants them to choose to let him in. he wants them to know they can trust him to be there to catch them when they need it. there have been so many times eddie didn't get the choice, where he didn't feel safe to fail, and he will do everything in his power to make sure the people he loves never have to feel the same way.

sometimes i have to pinch myself because there was an emergency where the victim said 'save the boy. she's the love of my life, he's the love of hers' in the same episode where buck was ready to die to make sure christopher made it home to eddie.

and then in s8, buck gave up his home to make sure eddie and christopher could be together.

and then in s9, buck was ready to give up his identity and remain in capativity in order to make sure eddie made it home to chris.

six years later, and buck would still give up everything he has to make sure eddie and chris make it home to each other.

Woke up thinking about an AU where Eddie went to LA with Shannon, and instead of Carla being Abby’s mom’s home healthcare aid, Eddie is.

I have no idea what would happen, but it’s an interesting concept and I suspect it will be what’s distracting me today!

Like maybe one of Eddie’s sisters visits (in my mind it’s Adriana) and is like having life struggles and all Eddie wants to do is wrap her in bubble wrap and fix it for her the same way he would for Chris and that leads to an argument between them because “I’m not your child, Eddie and you need to stop treating me like one” but also “I changed your diapers and braided your hair and taught you how to walk, don’t tell me you’re not my anything”

And I need Eddie to naturally go to Buck but Buck immediately is like “no she’s kinda right, you’re not her father, Eddie” and so they also have an argument and for some reason or other Maddie shows up while they’re arguing and so Eddie leaves and then like a few days later or smth Maddie shows up at the Diaz house and is like “ik exactly how you feel because I feel it every time Buck tells me smth is wrong and I have to stop myself from saying or doing things because despite raising him for majority of his childhood I am not his mother”

And I need them to comfort each other and also like defend each other from the pressures they never give themselves grace for
