Hey world I barely ever post on here but YOUR GIRL GOT A PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP!!!
We’re back! Let us know what kinds of videos you want to see!
Hi so I'm going to be attending UConn as a freshman this year and want to join the disney club, just wanted to know if you can tell me a little about it. Thanks!
Sure! We meet Monday's at 7pm in the Student Union. Come by our table at the involvement fair on the 7th from 2-7pm on Fairfield Way to meet me and get some more info!
Where did Heather buy her dress in the last days video? Ive fallen in love with it and come up with no luck in finding it and its driving me crazy!!
Forever 21!
Hi! So I am coming close to deciding on a college (Uconn is actually my top choice) and saw in an earlier post that you do not pay tuition while on the DCP, so my question is does the DCP ultimately save you money on college? And if so is it a significant amount? Thanks, love your videos and hope you make more soon!
Ahhh I hope you pick UConn! You do not pay tuition here while you’re on the DCP. You would think that would save you money, but in reality you’re paying rent, buying your groceries and other expenses while living in Florida. I also took/will have taken a total of 5 summer classes by the end of this summer to make up for the credits I didn’t get in Disney so I can graduate on time. The DCP didn’t save me much money because my expenses pretty much evened out to what I would’ve paid to be at UConn that semester. However, my financial aid did decrease for next year because of the money I earned in Disney. So I will be paying a bit extra for school next year because of my increased earnings that I had to claim with the FAFSA.
I hope this helped! Good luck on making your final college decision! You won’t regret UConn if you pick it :)
Hello hello! I was just wondering if UCONN offered full credit for the DCP. I live in Mansfield and I'm currently considering colleges. Uconn seems like a good option for me, but I'm counting on doing the WDW program and I'd just like to know if id have to take any classes while I'm down there. Thanks and have a magical day!
Hi there! UConn handles the DCP a little bit differently than other schools do. UConn treats the DCP as a co-op, therefore you do not get internship credit. UConn requires you to take one Exploration Series and one Collegiate class through Disney during your college program to participate in the co-op. You must also submit monthly reflections and a final paper to the Center for Career Development at the end of your program. Keep in mind, those are only requirements if you’re participating in the co-op. A co-op keeps you enrolled as a full time student through a roughly $100 fee and you do not pay tuition.
There are ways to go through the sociology department to gain credit, however you will have to pay tuition and write several long papers. Nearly every UConn student who does the DCP participates in the co-op program. That’s what I did! I didn’t take any actual classes for credit while in Disney; I made up all of my credits in the summer.
I hope this helps! If you have any more specific questions feel free to keep asking. I’m the President of Disney at UConn, so I definitely have a ton of information.
I just watched all your vlogs today and I loved them!!! I have my phone interview Monday and I'm freaking out!! I don't know why I'm nervous, it's probably normal. Do you have any advice?
This took my sooo long to get to I’m so sorry! I hope your phone interview went well! If anything, my advice for the waiting game is to only check your dashboard once a day and set your phone to have a special sound/notification if Disney emails you that way you won’t be checking your email constantly to see if anything new came in.
Hiii! My name is Alex and I applied for the DCP for fall 2016. I know it was awhile ago but I was wondering if you remember how long your phone interview was. I'm completely freaking out bc I feel like mine was super short (12 minutes). I'm sure I'm overthinking things but idk. Sorry if this is a mess, loved watching ur vlogs. My jersey accent is as deep as yours and people comment on it all the time lol
Hi there! I think mine was somewhere around 18-20 minutes. It was a little over a year so I’m not too sure but that’s the best I can remember. I’ve heard people have 10 minute interviews and get accepted, so don’t worry! I’m sure you’ll be fine.
Good luck with the whole process I wish you the best! Thanks for checking out the vlogs :)
A year ago today, I started working at the most magical place on earth and I would not trade those five months for anything ✨ (at Disney’s Magic Kingdom)
I'm doing the dcp sa 2016 in gsfb &I had a question. Throughout searching I found a blog (sorry I can't link it) which is outdated but I was wondering if you knew anything about becoming crosstrained (specifically through the hub/online)&picking up shifts outside of your role. This blog made it sound easy to do so but I haven't heard that anywhere else. I'm siked for dcp but qsfb was far from the top and i would love to do things outside my role. Just wondering what your experiences were in this
Personally, I wasn’t crosstrained for anything. The only “special” training I had was RVP and Food Safety which allowed me to pick up shifts in locations that either served prepared food or sold alcohol. If you want to become crosstrained for another role, this is something you’ll have to discuss with your leaders at your particular location. I have friends who have done more than one program with different roles each time, and our leaders weren’t too keen on them renewing their proficiencies and being able to pick up different shifts with that other role.
In general with TWDC, I think it’s easy to become cross trained. When it comes to the DCP, I don’t believe it’s as easy because each location gets a particular amount of CPs and your leaders won’t necessarily want you spending more time picking up shifts at a location you were crosstrained for. I’m not 100% sure about that, but I do think that you’re generally supposed to stay with your assigned location.
That being said, it doesn’t hurt to bring it up to your leaders regardless.
I know I don’t keep this blog updated too often, but feel free to follow my personal blog!

This blog is mainly going to be for DCP related questions as well as YouTube stuff :)
Did you purchase memory maker/ photo pass during your program? If I do the program I want to get it so I have the pictures disney takes and ones from rides. Do a lot of CP's get it?
I personally didn’t get it. What I and essentially every other person on the program did was use Firefox to save the pictures from the PhotoPass website without paying for them. Recently, Disney added a watermark to their pictures thus our method of getting them is no longer worth it because the words go straight across the picture.
I’m not sure if CPs are getting it now! It’s quite expensive so definitely think about it before you decide to do so! I’d recommend checking out a blog of someone doing the fall CP to see what they think too :)
Is there anything that you didn't do during the DCP that you wish you did?
The kitchen sink with my roommates, the four parks challenge, extending my program and picking up shifts in other places!!
Did you stay at resorts during your DCP for fun? What kind of discount do you get on resorts
When my mom and aunt came to visit me we stayed at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort (aka my resort!)..
If you’re name is on the reservation with your guests and you’re staying with them you get 60% off of the room, and if you’re just booking it for them and aren’t staying with them it’s 50% off!
Did you see any snakes during your DCP? I read in multiple places that you encounter a bunch... weird question probably but I want to apply but am horrified of snakes haha
I actually never saw any! Some of the apartment complexes encounter more critters than others do. I lived in Patterson Court and all I saw were those little lizards that pop around everywhere in Florida and they’re absolutely adorable I loved seeing them around.
