No. 6 fan since the anime aired in 2011. Read the light novel series in 2012 and I'm on my 3rd re-read now! nezumi and compassion

Nezumi tries so so desperately to push down the compassion inside him that revolts him and scares him so but he just cant It seeps through the cracks in his porcelain face and skin

We Can Dye It. I dont think theres anything wrong with your hair, I quite like it actually, but youre clearly distressed. We cant do anything about your scaf, but we can get hair dye, even if i dont see the point, if itll make you feel better.

Throughout that entire evening he's nothing but gentle. Soft. Kind. He has his guard up but he also can show the compassion hes so scared of without fear. His actions are constantly described as gentle and soft in that chapter. Go fucking reread it. Right now.

And he makes soup. Hes not in the business of comforting people but hell do it for Shion anyways.

And then they joke about shions dead beat dad and he lunges into nezumis arms and nezumi rubs his back in slow circles. He doesnt understand it when shion hugs him in reunion but here they're playing pretend, so its okay to let yourself enjoy comfort, and the presence of others, right?

And he tells shion, a kid he barely knows, that he's gotten better at picking up his cues.

He never stops complimenting shion in this ways. Youve gotten better at running away. You've gotten better at lying. Your actings gone from atrocious to passable.

He doesnt need to learn compassion throughout the story, he needs to learn that its okay to express the care he tries so hard not to feel.

Identity: MLM, explicit Notes: Romantically involved with Shion (a man). Propaganda: 1. "Do you like indigenous gays overthrowing a dystopian government? Vote Nezumi! He is also likes cross-dressing and has a personal library, despite living in an abandoned basement. His relationship origin story is that he was shot in the shoulder at the age of twelve, and the bullet was tenderly removed by his future partner Shion (male), also at the age of twelve. He is a bee-themed god's specialest human because he can sing. WHAT is not to like." 2. "He is mean, cunning, and incredibly talented with a knife. He trusts no one and forces himself to be completely emotionally isolated ("he was only to develop relationships that could be severed easily" <- direct quote from volume 2) and forces himself to hide his true feelings just like a good traumized character should. He encourages shion (love interest/narrative foil) to be violent and to not care about other people for his own safety. He has a crisis over the fact that he doesn't want shion to die but hates having emotions as it feels dangerous to him. Shion briefly touches his neck and Nezumi has a panic attack, thinking that he will die. After shion hurts others in self defense-which nezumi TOLD HIM TO DO-he hates it, he feels immense guilt and requests shion not change because nezumi is terrified of change. I HAVEN'T EVEN TALKED ABOUT HOW HIS ENTIRE ARC IS BASED ON REVENGE! HE WANTS REVENGE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE WRONGED HIM AND DAMMIT HE'S GONNA GET IT! Also he's a shakespeare obsessed theater kid who owns three pet mice and he makes what he refers to as "Macbeth soup" and drinks wine and then yells at other 16 year olds because they're too young to drink wine. Idk i cant articulate my love for him well. Hes everything you could possibly want in an angsty, genuinly cruel character. Cruel not in a normal Mean Teen way but in a Threatens to Kill And Beats Up His Love Interest Multiple Times kinda way could write a dissertation on him and maybe i will. He needs so mucb therapy <3"

No.6 Reunion volume 3 cover and release date

While there has yet to be an official announcement (I expect there will be one very soon), we have the cover art and a release date of May 28, 2026 for volume 3 of No.6 Reunion. It is not yet available for preorder, but I'm sure it will be soon.

While I've been taking a long break from Tumblr, I plan on doing summaries for volume 3 like I did for volume 2. You can find my volume 2 summaries in my pinned post.

And this is what you get when you watch anime.

It's short, it has less of a "Shion" feel, Nezumi is more serious here (in the novel he's much more cheerful and friendly, which surprised me when I read it); there's great music and action - all of this makes the anime seem more serious and darker to me than the novel.

As for the "difference" in the explanations in the finale, you know, after the trick with Shion's father and the gold deposits around the city, which are in the materials of the novel, it seems to me that anything is ok
