“I like to think so, yeah. He’s handsome and charming like his namesake.” His frown deepened. “I think a coyote or a large dog may have got him on his back legs.”
“I--..Um--..”She paused. Juliette wasn’t good at apologizing or swallowing her pride, but it felt like the right thing to do. “I’m sorry for the mess, then. I’ve been really busy the last couple of days.”
“Alejandro? Is that what you named him? I was really liking the name George Raclooney.” Gideon frowned and sadly pet the raccoon’s head. “He wandered into my backyard a couple days ago. I’ve been tryin’ to help him get better ever since.”
“Ha-ha, you’re so funny.” Juliette’s sarcastic tone filled the space between them, “Wait--...Trying to help him get better? Was he hurt?”A look of concern instantly washed over her features, her eye studying the man closely,
“No? Why would I be joking?” Gideon frowned and looked up at her. “He’s right here smellin’ like dog shampoo.”
“I’ve been looking for Alejandro for an hour and a half.” Juliette crossed her slender arms over her chest, “Where did you find him?”
“Well, I guess fate comes in to play or some other sort of higher power. If you believe in that?” Warren just thought it was his lucky day.
Pretty girls like this never spoke to him in bars. They said it was something about his presence, whatever that meant. It never upset him, he knew that he could be difficult to be around for any number of reasons. But why now, why was she so nice to him. She couldn’t be attracted to him. Juliette was too pretty, and Warren, well, Warren was his own biggest fan. He shook his head, maybe she was just being nice, after all she gave him those nice nicknames. He wouldn’t question this further, something like this didn’t even happen in his visions.
“So what are you drinking tonight Juliette. I’ll have what you’re having.” He motioned to the bartender, ready to give his drink order.
“There’s no such thing as fate, babe.” Juliette shook her head with a small chuckle.
She could feel how nervous he became --- hell, she could even smell it. Truth was, she liked to play games. Playing games with people was her favourite hobby. She liked getting what she wanted --- no matter was it is, no matter how hard it is to get it--- at the end of the day she always got what she wanted. And right now she wanted to have fun.
“Shots. We’re drinking shots.’ She winked at the male, before crossing one of her slender legs over the other and leaning more over the bar.

“You really think that’s what everyone’s doing here tonight?”
He gave her another curious look, brow raised half way before he broke away, shaking his head with a partial grin down at his glass. Yeah, yeah, he knew. His name wasn’t one you were ever, ever going to find on coffee mugs, and some days not even that sounded right on his tongue.
“You’ve got a nice one too…and gin. You?”
“Of course they are.”She said, before pointing at a few people at the table next to them with her chin, “Look at these three---...One of them definitelly got fired yesterday. The girl is almost as broke as an actor trying to get in the movie industry, and---....The old man is just old. Old people drink. It’s like their thing.” She said calmly, as if every word that left her pink lips was universal truth.
“Whiskey.”
“This little feller was in the backyard the other day, and he looked like somethin’ got a hold of him. I’ve been tryin’ to fix him up.”
“You must be joking----....”Juliette stood frozen; eyes glued to the little animal in the man’s hands.
“I can tell! You’re good at them.” He smiled, glad he made her laugh. Warren immediately liked this girl. She was nice, and gave him nicknames and even wanted to drink with him. He put out his hand to shake hers. “I’m Warren Sims. Nice to meet you too, Juliette.” He grinned. “Cute? Me? Man I should have found you sooner.”
She listened to his words carefully; her green irises traveling from his own ones to his full lips. She knew it was in her power to make every man she ever dreamed of want her -- body and soul. Crave her --- body and soul. Taking a sip of her drink, she ran her slender fingers through her curly locks, “I believe we’re at the right place at the right time. Don’’t you think so? What better time to find me than now?”
“Hostile.”
“But, yeah. Justin. Same as the hundred other times I told you.”
“I’m not big on names, babe.” A soft smirk caressed her lips, “But I do remember your face--...Where have we met before?”
“Precious?” He murmured. He had never heard that before. “Bambi? Now no one has ever called me those two things in the same conversation. This is nice.” He smiled. “I should drink with you more often. I’m Warren by the way, but you can keep calling me Bambi if you like. But who am I to tell you what to do.”
“I have a thing for nicknames.” A soft chuckle left her parted lips, “A lot of people want to drink with me more often. Usually that’s the first thing they say. My name’s Juliette. It’s a pleasure.” She offered to shake his hand, with a laugh, “You’re cute.”
“I am almost positive that you most certainly do Miss. I can just tell.” He nervously glanced around the bar. “Pardon me miss, I’m just tryin’ to drink, I hope I’m not botherin’ you none, it’s just the only open spot is by you.”
“Aren’t you precious?” Juliette leaned more into the man, her green irises piercing his, “You are not bothering me, Bambi. You can relax.” The smile upon her lips widened.
“You’re actually not the first person to tell me that.”
“I don’t really care, Justin---..or whatever your name was. “
“I know and I don’t expect that. I just feel like the only one without a life.”
“That is not true. You do have a life. You’re drinking with me now, right? That’s a life. You’re alive. Make the most of it.”Juliette clicked her glass with the blonde’’s, a soft smirk caressing her features.

“One is recently engaged and the other is a guy and he’s busy with stuff. Everyone is just busy.”
“Things like that happen. Everyone has their own lives. You can’t expect them to be by your side 24/7″ She took a sip of her drink.
He smirked and nodded “I’m a firefighter just because I’m careful doesn’t mean I don’t run directly to the fire”
“Oh, good one. So, If I was the fire, you would run directly towards me---..or that wasn’t the metaphor you were going for?” She chuckled playfully, before biting down upon her lip gently.
