anyway if y’all needed proof that good prosthetics/costuming beat out badly done cgi look no further than this year i guess fjahdjvk
im literally never gonna be off this i think. like. how many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man. cgi can be utilized for costuming really well, IF used to accent an already halfway decent costume. less is more. like. using cgi to make david tennant’s eyes all snakey works really well! BECAUSE it was paired with costumes that put forward a specific, recognizable aesthetic!!! likewise in us, the cgi used to put two lupitas on screen at the same time (specifically I’m thinking of the scene where red is pushing adelaide’s face into the glass table) was seamless, flawless. the goal was to make it look like there was no cgi used in the first place. that should be the goal every time!!!!! i just!!!!!! why commit so much money to making things ugly when a half decent costuming crew and a quarter of the budget spent on the required tech is a tried and true success!!!!
while im still mad: the sonic movie would be a million times more appealing if they just went the route of who framed roger rabbit/ space jam/ looney toons back in action
