“great!” dean replied when she agreed with his suggestion. “it’s nothing.” he shrugged it off as they reached the door to the restaurant and pushed it open for her to walk in first. “ladies first!”

Skylar shook her head as she heard those words coming out Dean’s lips “I’ve just said I’m worse, which actually means you’re better than me on that, I’m not underestimating your ability to say and to the wrong thing” explained Skylar with a smile on her face. “Oh wow, then you’ll be surprised, I’m bad at more things than the ones I’m good at” assured the blonde.

“how about we agree to disagree or admit we’re on the same level?” dean put his hand out to shake on it. “i guess that’s human nature. we can’t be good at everything and i’m sure if we were asked to - i don’t know - yodel, we’d both be pretty shocking at it.” he joked.

“I found the perfect skirt for Easton, if you want one I’ll get one, just trust me” laughed the blonde. “I’ll have it in mind” she nodded, she really appreciated everything he was doing for her, her night was no longer the disaster she thought it would. “I think I like pizza in general, even the one with pineapple on top but… I think I would say the four kinds of cheese one, what about you?” she asked looking at him with a smile “But I have to say that even if I love pizza I can’t eat a whole pizza on my own, I wish but it’s not the case”

“i trust you completely.” dean shook his head while laughing. he nodded his head. “i never got how people can riot about pineapple on pizza. i’m not a fan of it but i wouldn’t say it doesn’t deserve to be on a pizza.” he commented his opinion. “my go-to is usually a simple pepperoni.” dean answered. “well, how about we do a half and half pizza that we can share so you don’t have to be overwhelmed by having a full pizza in front of you?”

“i think in some ways it comes down to how i was raised. my mum was in and out of my life and my dad did what he could to raise us - even if it sometimes took him down the wrong path. i think seeing my dad be that dedicated as well as having a less than good mum drives me to give leo a better family life than that.” he explained his thinking in regards to raising his son. “yeah, she lives with her parents so she gets a lot of support from them when they’re not working. plus, leo’s grandparents are so smitten with him. they absolutely adore him. he’s their first grandchild so i’m sure you can imagine.”

“i know but i’m sure they’re thinking of you and missing you just as much.” dean returned. “thanks... i hope so.” he smiled softly to her as she squeezed his hand in a comforting manner. he really did appreciate the gesture. “i’m your favourite ex which both makes me nice and able to banter with you.”

a smaller smile grew on his lips when she grabbed his hands from across the table. “you really underestimate my ability to say and do the wrong thing if you think you’re worse.” he chuckled. “maybe i just cant imagine you being bad at anything...”

“come on, could you imagine me in something like that? it’d be scary.” dean laughed out. “to the pizzeria then!” he pointed forward before pausing and turning on his foot. “that was not the right way... this way!” he corrected him and pointed again in the new direction to set them off.
