I'm afraid of hurting everyone... (childhood's end)

my android gf doesnt have a speech synthesizer but she chirps whenever we drive past a speed camera, which is like, way more useful
it's got a miniature tape deck in its chest that can record and play back like a dozen sounds at a time. not really enough for conversation but if we're going somewhere important she'll load it up with basic phrases.
most of the time, though, it's just filled with sounds it likes. when we get back from a hike it's full of bird calls. sometimes i hear her fill it with video game sound effects and use it like a stimboard. whenever i say something stupid she makes me repeat myself so she can clip it and play it back to me for like a week. when i have to travel she takes a bunch of recordings of my voice to keep her company while i'm gone.
one time we were fucking and she started moaning in my voice. kind of embarrassing how hot i found it. afterwards she kept a few moans to play back around our friends to fuck with me. the downside of dating an android girl is you might find out it's EVIL and gets off on TORMENTING YOU she's watching me write this and giggling. girl i'm gonna trade you in for a roomba one of these days.
sinkdog!
we should be talking about sinkdog!
Min5 (2008) by Ng Beng Kiat, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore. Min5 won the 2008 All Japan Micromouse Competition with a time of 6.433 seconds.
"Just finished SRG [Singapore Robotic Games]. Second again. I was also second in the 2007 Japan Contest. My latest mouse, Min5 is about 5% faster than Min4A. I achieved that by solely bringing down the robot's c.g. [centre of gravity] To bring the c.g. lower, I had to reduce the robot's weight so that I can use a smaller motor, the 1717 from Faulhaber. The smaller motors allowed me to cut 2 holes in the PCB so that the motors can be placed lower. The plastic gears for the wheels also help. I had some other ideas to try, but I'm not sure whether to invest further as the Japanese are changing the micromouse to a smaller format, one that is quarter size. The Japan contest is my main motivation, without which, I find it hard to carry on. I also want to mention that I was invited to compete in Taiwan during October 2007. I won first place. I really enjoyed myself there, as the Taiwaneses are really wonderful hosts.
Just back from Japan. I manage to win the contest with Min5. There was no software modification on the robot. I had new motor mounting plates which bring the motors down 1.0mm and the PCB down 0.5mm. I'm not sure if that makes any real difference to the performance but I believe it did. I had also changed the 5V regulators and skid pads to smaller versions. The tires (Pit Shimizi PS-300) are old. They are the ones that were given to me by either Itani in 2004 or Nakashima in 2006. Anyway, I had used the same tires for nearly 2 years on Min5 and they are still in very good condition. I want to mention this as I had noticed that many people use new tires during the competition, which may not be really necessary. A good tire cleaning solution is probably better." – Ng Beng Kiat (2008).

Suzanne Treister 1991-1992 Fictional Videogame Stills
In the late 1980s I was making paintings about computer games. In January 1991 I bought an Amiga computer and made a series of fictional videogame stills using Deluxe Paint II. I photographed them straight from the screen as there was no other way to output them that I knew of apart from through a very primitive daisy wheel printer where they appeared as washed out dots.
The effect of the photographs perfectly reproduced the highly pixellated, raised needlepoint effect of the Amiga screen image. Conceptually this means of presentation was also appropriate in that it made it seem like I had gone into a videogame arcade and photographed the games there, lending authenticity to the fiction.
The first seven works on this page form a series titled, ‘Q. Would you recognise a Virtual Paradise?’
Many of these works were shown in London at the Edward Totah Gallery in March 1992 (view installation) and later that year at the Exeter Hotel in Adelaide, Australia. In 1995 the ‘Q. Would you recognise a Virtual Paradise?’ series was shown in London at the Royal Festival Hall in the exhibition It’s a Pleasure, curated by Leah Kharibian.
Recent venues: Somerset House, London, 2018 view installation ; Akron Art Museum, Ohio, USA 2019 and tour; Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Sweden, 2019/20 view installation
The original Amiga floppy disks which stored the image files are corrupt, but the photographic art works remain.
