i think the lack of disability rep (despite there being canon disabled characters) is due both to the context of the kny world & how it handles its canonically disabled characters.

this is not to say that the author is, like, a horrible person, but there's obvious faults in how they handle characters like gyomei and obanai, for example. gyomei is blind but it's ok ! he can just Hear Well ! obanai is half blind but it's ok ! service snake ! and i understand how those stereotypes can come about Especially within the social context of japan, so i am not incredibly surprised. kny IS a media that has many flaws, and though it is unfortunate, it is also important to both acknowledge them and also acknowledge that it is okay to still enjoy it. lol.

on the side of the world's context, it places major emphasis on being able-bodied, or at least able to pass as able-bodied. kny also has a fanbase that is incredibly strange when it comes to representation of any sort, despite its media being queer when you break it down to its fundamental basic concepts, so there's a major pushback when it comes to rep.

i on the other hand do not give a shit at all whatsoever i do what i want forever and that is how it always will be. there's more hcs beyond just giyuu but i'll only divulge that if i'm asked to LOL

Why isnt Isabeau the princess in your STP thing?

stp and isat both are in a sense fundamentally about stasis versus change and love throughout both of them, as well as how that love effects both ideals. (alongside other stuff, obviously, but those are some of the Main Things)

yes isabeau would be fine as the princess. i'm not doing that though. i think the storyline is more impactful when isat's Resident Change Character tm is stp's Resident Change Character tm. that's not to say isabeau wouldn't fit, but in my eyes he fits significantly less than mirabelle does.

also i really like mirabelle and siffrin's dynamic, so that too. if you want to make an stp-isat au where isabeau is the princess, you can do that. im not stopping you. we're in the world of transformative work. its literally fine do whatever you want forever.

also also i think mirabelle would appreciate it more

also thematically i enjoy it more than, say, them as voice of the cheated (even if they do fit that role). it's a lot more symbolic to me to have all of the 4 main stp roles be the isat characters that fundamentally embody the stasis v change plotpoint both games have at their core.

not to say other characters don't embody this, but those four are perhaps the most important to it.
